Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) once again went beyond its automotive business duties to lend a helping hand. Partnering with its long-time Isuzu dealer group ACMobility, together with Iconic Dealership, Inc. (IDI)’s Isuzu Pasig branch, the company recently donated an Isuzu water tanker truck to the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) to strengthen disaster response efforts in the country.
The turnover ceremony, held in Mandaluyong City, marked the formal donation of a six-wheeler Isuzu FVR34 Q Euro-IV truck fitted with an 8,000-liter water tanker. The vehicle is expected to support the humanitarian organization’s operations, particularly in disaster-prone areas where access to clean water becomes a major concern during emergencies.
Leading the turnover were ACMobility CEO Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, IDI Isuzu Brand Head Eric Wambangco, IPC President Mikio Tsukui, PRC Chairman Richard Gordon, and PRC Secretary General Dr. Gwendolyn Pang. According to Zobel de Ayala, the donated truck represents more than just a commercial vehicle. He described it as a “mobile lifeline” designed to bring relief and hope to communities affected by disasters.

The PRC said the water tanker will primarily be deployed in Cebu, where access to clean and safe water is often disrupted during calamities. The truck will be used for water distribution, hygiene promotion, and other humanitarian services in affected communities.
Richard Gordon emphasized the value of partnerships between private organizations and humanitarian groups, noting that collaborations such as this help the PRC respond faster and reach more people during emergencies.
Built under Isuzu’s F-Series medium-duty truck lineup, the FVR34 is designed for heavy-duty operations with its reinforced chassis and high axle capacity. Powered by the Euro IV-compliant Isuzu 6HK1-TCN Blue Power Diesel Engine, the truck is engineered to deliver reliable performance while maintaining fuel efficiency and lower emissions. The vehicle also benefits from Isuzu’s nationwide aftersales support network, ensuring easier maintenance and parts availability wherever it is deployed.
Autocar’s Take
Corporate donations often come and go, but initiatives that directly improve disaster response capabilities leave a lasting impact. The donation of an Isuzu water tanker to the Philippine Red Cross is a lasting contribution that addresses a real need in communities affected by calamities.
In a country frequently hit by typhoons and other emergencies, access to clean water can quickly become a serious concern. More importantly, this partnership shows how the private sector can play a big role outside business operations. By combining reliable transport solutions with humanitarian efforts, ACMobility, IDI, and Isuzu are helping strengthen disaster preparedness where it matters most.
