BAIC Philippines has expanded its footprint in Metro Manila with the opening of its newest dealership along Quezon Avenue in Quezon City, strengthening the Chinese automaker’s growing presence in the local market as competition in the SUV and electrified vehicle space continues to intensify.
Operated by Wheels Inc. under the United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI), the newly inaugurated BAIC Quezon Avenue dealership aims to make the brand’s lineup of premium SUVs and electrified vehicles more accessible to customers in one of Metro Manila’s busiest commercial districts.
The opening ceremony gathered executives from UAAGI and Wheels Inc., highlighting the continued partnership between the two companies. Leading the event were BAIC Brand Head Timothy Sytin and Wheels Chairman Gordon Teng, alongside executives from both groups.

During the launch, BAIC showcased several of its latest models now available at the dealership, including the B30e Dune, B40e Pro Trailmaster rEV, B40 Pro Trailmaster, and the B60e Beaumont. The lineup headlines the company’s continued focus on SUVs with electrified and adventure-oriented capabilities aimed at Filipino motorists seeking versatility for both urban and outdoor driving.
“The Wheels Group is one of the most prominent and respected dealer operating groups in the country. For years, your name has been associated with excellence, with professionalism, and with a standard of business conduct that few can match. That reputation is not given, it is built, carefully and consistently, over many years of doing things the right way,” shared Timothy Sytin.
The executive also pointed to the growing acceptance of new energy vehicles in the country, saying Filipino buyers are now warming up to electrified mobility solutions. According to Sytin, BAIC sees itself as well-positioned to benefit from the market’s transition, particularly with its growing range of hybrid and electrified SUVs already being offered locally.
Beyond product expansion, BAIC also highlighted the development of its local customer community and enthusiast base, which the company considers a key part of its long-term growth strategy in the Philippines.
Autocar’s Take
BAIC’s continued expansion in Metro Manila shows how committed Chinese brands are in positioning themselves in the Philippine market, particularly in the growing SUV and electrified vehicle segment. Opening a dealership along Quezon Avenue is a strategic move, not just for visibility, but also for accessibility in one of the metro’s busiest automotive corridors.
BAIC’s dealership opening in Quezon City is a sign of its confidence in electrified SUVs and the market it sees in the area. The challenge now is consistency — maintaining strong aftersales support, parts availability, and long-term customer trust. If BAIC succeeds there, its local growth could accelerate quickly.
