Suzuki Philippines, Inc. has been honored as one of the top-ranking corporate taxpayers in Calamba City, cementing another milestone to its long-standing presence in Laguna. The recognition was given during the 2026 Top Taxpayer Awards held as part of the city’s 25th Cityhood Anniversary celebration at the Jose Rizal Coliseum.
The company secured the second spot in the Business Tax – Corporation Category and ranked 6th in the Real Property Tax – Corporation Category. The achievement highlights Suzuki’s continued contribution to the city’s economic development, particularly through its manufacturing and operational footprint in the area.
Suzuki’s Calamba facility has played a significant role in generating employment and supporting local industries, while also contributing to the city’s revenue base. Its steady growth in the region reflects its long-term commitment to the Philippine market.

Recent developments further reinforce this commitment. Of note, it is now building a new integrated facility with a parts warehouse, training center, and office space. The new project is expected to boost the company’s logistics efficiency, enhance workforce training, and strengthen overall service operations.
At the same time, Suzuki has expanded its Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) facility. This upgrade aims to improve the speed and quality of vehicle preparation before delivery to dealerships nationwide, ensuring customers receive units that meet global standards.
These investments align with Suzuki’s strategy of steadily improving its performance across its automobile, motorcycle, and marine businesses in the country. They also support the growing demand for mobility solutions while contributing to the area’s overall economic activity.
The citation came at a timely manner as Calamba City celebrates its 25th year of cityhood under the theme “Rooted in Heritage, Rising in Progress.” Suzuki Philippines’ inclusion among the city’s top business taxpayers is proof that the private sector matters just as importantly in developing the economic foundation of a community.

Autocar’s Take
More often than not, a company’s recognition as a top taxpayer gets overlooked by many who gloss through headlines, but it says a lot about a business’ real impact on the ground. Suzuki’s performance in Calamba shows how its manufacturing presence translates into tangible local benefits, such as jobs, infrastructure, and steady revenue for the city. What’s interesting here is that the recognition was given as the company is on the road to improving its services, most especially in logistics and training.
This helped put Suzuki in a position reflecting a company that’s seriously preparing for sustained long-term growth. In a competitive automotive landscape, that kind of thinking matters, as it strengthens Suzuki’s reputation as a brand that not only sells products but also helps in developing the economy.
