Omoda & Jaecoo (O&J) Philippines has officially introduced the Jaecoo J5 SHS-H at an auto show. The J5 SHS-H is Jaecoo’s first hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) in the local market, further expanding the car brand’s model options that include the J7 SHS, a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV).
Assisting O&J PH during the reveal of the Jaecoo J5 HEV is the AIMOGO, the car brand’s state-of-the-art robot that features a bionic mechanical architecture that’s capable of human-like flexible movement. The Jaecoo J5 HEV has a straightforward design that’s complemented by clean accents, modern-looking details, and crisp character lines.
The J5 HEV’s front end is fitted with a massive grille that has vertical slats, which Jaecoo calls the “waterfall front grille.” The said grille design can also be seen in the J7 SHS, a PHEV model that debuted in the Philippines last August 2025. Going back to the J5 HEV, its front bumper is integrated with black trims and black cladding, adding a touch of ruggedness to the clean-looking fascia. The sharp LED headlights are also hard to miss when you’re staring at the Jaecoo J5 HEV.
Turning at the side, the Jaecoo J5 HEV has crisp character lines that give the vehicle a refined finish. The set of 18-inch wheels adds style points to the J5 HEV, while the black cladding seen below the doors allows the vehicle to have a subtle yet noticeable accent.

The rear is equipped with distinctive LED taillights, which look simple but give the J5 HEV a modern-looking design. Jaecoo shared that the taillight pattern drew inspiration from layered natural silhouettes, delivering a bold, structured appearance. Meanwhile, the Jaecoo J5 HEV’s tailgate has a sculpted design that enhances its wide stance.
Inside, the J5 HEV has a clean interior layout featuring a clutter-free dashboard that’s dominated by a large infotainment touchscreen. Jaecoo said that the J5 HEV offers a “premium mobile sanctuary” with 82.8 percent space utilization and over 35 storage spaces. It also has double-layer soundproof glass and antibacterial PU fabric seats.
Safety is anchored by a high-torsion body (23,500 Nm/deg) and an L2+ intelligent driving system with 19 advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) functions that include automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, blind spot detection, adaptive cruise control, and integrated cruise assist, among others.
Under the hood, the Jaecoo J5 HEV is powered by a 1.5T hybrid system that generates a combined power output of 346 horsepower and 525 Nm of torque, according to the car brand. The J5 HEV can go from zero to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, and Jaecoo claims that it can deliver a fuel economy of 23 km/L and a total range of 980 kilometers.
