Great Wall Motor (GWM) Philippines is looking to further its presence in the local market with the addition of MJ Del Pilar as its new Sales Director. The car brand said that Del Pilar’s experience and expertise are expected to reinforce GWM PH’s commitment to excellence, performance, and expansion in the market.
Del Pilar is a seasoned individual in the Philippine automobile industry, with 25 years of solid and progressive experience in Sales and Marketing. As such, GWM PH said that Del Pilar brings a wealth of industry expertise, strategic insight, and leadership capability to its management team.
Del Pilar’s career spans extensive work in automotive sales operations, dealer network development, retail strategy execution, and performance-driven sales management. Before joining GWM PH, he had been part of car brands such as Honda, Geely, Peugeot, and JMC.
GWM PH shared that Del Pilar will oversee its nationwide sales operations, dealer performance optimization, strategic sales planning, and revenue growth initiatives. The car brand added that his appointment as Sales Director is timely since GWM is determined to strengthen its foothold in the local market through its growing lineup of SUVs and pickup trucks.
Speaking of which, GWM PH launched the Haval H9, a full-size seven-seater SUV, last February 2026, and is available with a sticker price of P1,998,888. GWM PH is offering an introductory discount amounting to P70,000, which will run until May 31, 2026.
The GWM Haval H9 is equipped with a 2.4-liter turbocharged diesel engine that puts out 184 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and features three drive modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport, along with a 4×4 drivetrain.
GWM PH Brand Head Dax Avenido said that Dal Pilar’s strong leadership track record make hime an asset to the car brand’s performance and growth.
“MJ’s deep industry experience and strong leadership track record make him a valuable addition to our executive team. As we continue expanding our dealer network and product portfolio, his expertise will be instrumental in driving sustainable growth and elevating our sales performance nationwide,” Avenido said.
GWM PH also said that Del Pilar is widely respected in the industry for his hands-on leadership style, strong dealer relationships, and ability to translate strategic direction into measurable results.
