Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) once again showed its strength in fuel efficiency and diesel engineering after the D-Max pickup truck and the mu-X SUV posted commendable results at the 2025 Department of Energy (DOE) Fuel Eco-Run, one of the country’s most recognized benchmarks for real-world vehicle efficiency.

Held last September 24, 2025, the DOE Fuel Eco Run is designed to simulate everyday driving conditions rather than controlled laboratory testing. Participating vehicles were driven over a distance of more than 150 km along the Tarlac–Pangasinan–La Union Expressway (TPLEX), with the entire activity running under the watchful eyes of the DOE to ensure standardized procedures, transparency, and comparable results across all entries.

Isuzu fielded two of its top-selling models for the annual run. Competing in the N1 category, the Isuzu D-Max LS-A 4×2 AT delivered a fuel efficiency rating of 20.63 kilometers per liter gasoline equivalent (km/Lge), highlighting its suitability as a practical workhorse that does not compromise on fuel economy. Meanwhile, in the M1 mid-size SUV category, the Isuzu mu-X LS-A 4×2 AT registered a fuel efficiency rating of 17.11 km/Lge, reinforcing its position as a family SUV capable of delivering a balanced mix of power, comfort, and efficiency.

“These results reflect what our customers have long experienced with Isuzu vehicles. The exceptional performance of the D-Max and mu-X comes as no surprise, as the Isuzu brand is globally renowned for fuel efficiency. With our advanced diesel engine technology, combined with the aerodynamic design, both models are optimized to perform efficiently across various road conditions with less drag translating into this impressive fuel economy results,” said IPC Sales Division Head Mr. Robert Carlos.

With its strong showing at the 2025 DOE Fuel Eco Run, IPC continues to show its commitment to delivering durable, reliable, and fuel-efficient vehicles that meet the evolving demand of local consumers.
