Sony Honda Mobility debuted the Afeela Prototype SUV concept at the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. This marks the second electric vehicle (EV) from the joint venture between Sony and Honda.
The Afeela Prototype 2026 SUV concept’s exterior shares similarities with its sibling, the Afeela 1 sedan, which is set to start deliveries in the United States this year. However, the most obvious difference between the two EVs is the overall size, as the Afeela Prototype 2026 comes with larger dimensions since it is an SUV.
Looking at the Afeela Prototype SUV concept, you can instantly see that it has a sleek design seen throughout the exterior. The headlight design of the SUV concept is the same as what is fitted to the Afeela 1 sedan.

From the side, the two Afeela EVs look alike, making it more obvious that both vehicles share the same design language. Just look at that sleek side profile and sloping roofline. It kind of even brings to mind the Honda HR-V, especially when you look at the side profile of the Afeela Prototype 2026 SUV.
The rear is characterized by distinctive taillights, which runs throught the vehicle’s tailgate. It also has a lip rear spoiler, as well as an illuminated Afeela lettering. Aside from these, Sony and Honda have yet to share more details about the Afeela Prototype 2026 SUV concept. But, the brand did reveal that a production model based on this prototype is set to be launched in the U.S. market “as early as 2028.”

Sony Honda Mobility also announced the Afeela Co-Creation Program, which aims to create collaborative outputs with creators and developers. The brand aims to expand the possibilities of mobility by providing access to information necessary for developing in-vehicle entertainment, including in-car themes and apps. Through this program, Sony and Honda enable developers to create entirely new mobility applications that will further transform the in-cabin experience.
