Refreshed Hyundai Stargazer teased in Indonesia, a hint of things to come

Here’s something fresh and piping hot. Word on the street is that Hyundai Motor Indonesia just released a teaser photo of what could be their mid-cycle refreshed Stargazer compact MPV. This move hinted at a possible global reveal, anytime soon. And you know what that means – a potential Philippine launch which we guess could fall somewhere in the ballpark of very late this year or early next year.

Based on the photo, the updated Stargazer exhibits a more refined version of its already unique exterior design. We’ve managed to bump up the brightness of the said photo, and what we’ve seen is a preview of what this author thinks is a bolder, more “Let’s get down to serious business” aura, seeing by how “boxy” and “grown-up” the styling vibes it shows.

Also, doesn’t the teased updated Stargazer remind you of something like the Kia Palisade? We think so, but don’t take our word for it. Just remember, though, that Hyundai does own about a third of the Kia brand, so maybe, just maybe, there’s a link between the two models, style-wise.

On a local note, the Hyundai Stargazer has been going strong in the Philippines since its debut in late 2022 under Hyundai Motor Philippines, Inc. or HMPH. The brand positions the Stargazer as their compact MPV contender, targeting the likes of the Toyota Avanza, Suzuki Ertiga, and the Mitsubishi XPander, to name a few.

The Hyundai Stargazer features a 1.5L petrol engine, rated at 113 hp and 144 Nm of torque, and comes with CVT. We predict that Hyundai won’t be touching the powertrain of the teased updated Stargazer as it has been proving itself as a competent unit in tropical Southeast Asian roads such as here in the Philippines.

Until it’s official, we can only speculate and be optimistic.
