The judging panel praised DrunkSense as a “transformative force in road safety,” highlighting its real-time monitoring and intervention capabilities. The technology is also aligned with upcoming safety regulations, including the 2026 European NCAP standards and 2027 NHTSA requirements in the U.S.

Unlike breathalyzer-based detection, DrunkSense operates without requiring driver interaction. It continuously monitors driver behavior, in-car signals, and ambient alcohol levels to detect intoxication in real time, reducing the risks of false readings and circumvention.
With drunk driving remaining a leading cause of road fatalities, AI-driven solutions like DrunkSense are redefining industry standards. Part of VinAI’s InteriorSense suite, the system has demonstrated 70% accuracy in testing, reinforcing its potential to make roads safer.
VinAI’s AI-powered solutions are already deployed in over 80,000 vehicles worldwide, with plans to expand to 800,000 vehicles in the next five years.
