VinAI DrunkSense earns 2025 AI Excellence Award

VinAI’s DrunkSense technology has been honored with the 2025 Artificial Intelligence Excellence Award by the Business Intelligence Group, recognizing its innovation in automotive AI and its impact on preventing drunk driving.

This international award celebrates groundbreaking AI applications that address real-world challenges. The judging panel praised DrunkSense as a “transformative force in road safety,” highlighting its real-time monitoring and intervention capabilities. The technology is also aligned with upcoming safety regulations, including the 2026 European NCAP standards and 2027 NHTSA requirements in the U.S.

“We are truly honored to receive this recognition,” said Vuong Cap, Deputy CEO at VinAI. “DrunkSense represents a major leap forward in detecting intoxicated driving, surpassing traditional methods and helping automakers meet stricter safety regulations.”

Unlike breathalyzer-based detection, DrunkSense operates without requiring driver interaction. It continuously monitors driver behavior, in-car signals, and ambient alcohol levels to detect intoxication in real time, reducing the risks of false readings and circumvention.

With drunk driving remaining a leading cause of road fatalities, AI-driven solutions like DrunkSense are redefining industry standards. Part of VinAI’s InteriorSense suite, the system has demonstrated 70% accuracy in testing, reinforcing its potential to make roads safer.

VinAI’s AI-powered solutions are already deployed in over 80,000 vehicles worldwide, with plans to expand to 800,000 vehicles in the next five years.
