Formula 1 & Lenovo extends partnership

Formula 1 and Lenovo have announced an extension of their partnership, elevating Lenovo to Global Partner status in a multi-year agreement beginning in 2025. As part of this deal, Motorola, a Lenovo subsidiary, will serve as the Global Smartphone Partner of F1.

Lenovo, a key player in F1 since 2022, will continue to deliver cutting-edge technology solutions to support Grands Prix both on-site and remotely. The partnership includes Lenovo acting as title sponsor for two races each season, along with enhanced branding for Lenovo and Motorola at various events.

Lenovo’s high-performance computing solutions have been integral to F1’s operations, facilitating top-tier broadcasts that captivate millions of fans worldwide. With equipment ranging from laptops to Motorola smartphones, Lenovo empowers F1 staff to create compelling content for a growing global audience.

Additionally, Lenovo’s Asset Recovery Service aligns with F1’s sustainability goals, ensuring responsible recycling of retired hardware. Since the partnership’s inception, 95% of obsolete hardware has been sustainably disposed of, enhancing both cost efficiency and data security.

Innovations such as the kiss-activated trophies unveiled at the FORMULA 1 LENOVO JAPANESE GRAND PRIX 2023 and FORMULA 1 LENOVO UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX 2023 exemplify Lenovo’s commitment to blending tradition with cutting-edge technology.

Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Formula 1, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership’s future, stating, “Lenovo’s creativity and technological innovation have significantly advanced F1’s goals. This new chapter will further our shared commitment to precision, innovation, and sustainability.”

Yang Yuanqing, Chairman & CEO of Lenovo, added, “We are excited to deepen our collaboration with F1. Our focus on AI and sustainability drives us to create groundbreaking solutions that enhance the fan experience and shape the future of motorsport.”

Luca Rossi, President of Lenovo’s Intelligent Devices Group, remarked, “Our journey with F1 has just begun, and we are eager to explore new heights together, transforming the fan experience through our AI-ready technology.”
