Ford Motor Company has announced that Pedro Simoes will be the new Managing Director of Ford Group Philippines, starting December 1. Pedro is currently the Director for Marketing, Commercial Vehicles, and Fleet at Ford Middle East. He will take over from Michael “Mike” Breen, who is moving back to the United States.
Pedro will be moving to Manila and will report directly to Yukontorn ‘Vickie’ Wisadkosin, President of Ford ASEAN and Asia Pacific Distributor Markets.
In his new role, Pedro will focus on continuing Ford’s growth in the Philippines. He will work on maintaining the strong momentum of the Ford brand, improving the customer and aftersales experience, and building strong relationships with dealer partners to better serve Ford customers.
“With his success in growing brands and markets and his collaborative leadership style, I am confident that Pedro will lead the team and work closely with our dealer partners to strengthen our presence in the Philippines,” said Wisadkosin.
She also expressed gratitude to Mike Breen for his outstanding contributions to Ford’s growth in the Philippines. “Mike’s commitment and leadership have greatly strengthened our dealer relationships and helped achieve strong business results. We wish him the best in his new role in the US,” she added.
Pedro joined Ford Middle East in Dubai, UAE, in 2016 and has a strong background in leading and growing businesses. In his most recent role as Director for Marketing, Commercial Vehicles, and Fleet, he set up a new department, team, and processes for the region in 2021. Before that, he was the Retail Marketing and Revenue Management Director, where he helped deliver a 40% increase in volume and higher net profit in his first year.
Throughout his career, Pedro has held key roles in marketing, branding, product development, and sales for various automotive brands, giving him a deep understanding of the automotive industry.
Pedro earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Material Science Engineering from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal, in 2007. He also completed an Executive Advanced Marketing Program at Universidade Catolica Portuguesa in 2012.
