In collaboration with the Department of Tourism (DOT), Nissan Philippines has been appointed as the Official Mobility Partner for the 36th Joint Meeting of the UN Tourism Commission for East Asia and the Pacific and the UN Tourism Commission for South Asia (36th CAP-CSA), along with the inaugural UN Tourism Regional Forum on Gastronomy Tourism for Asia and the Pacific. These events ran from June 26-28, 2024 in Cebu.
The annual Joint Meetings of the UN Tourism Commissions aim to enhance regional cooperation and address tourism challenges in the region. Attendees include member states, associate members, affiliate members from the private sector, international and regional organizations, and representatives from the Office of the President.
This year’s gathering coincides with the first UN Tourism Regional Forum on Gastronomy Tourism for Asia and the Pacific, celebrating the impact of gastronomy tourism. The forum serves as a venue for destinations and for international experts to share insights and best practices, while also showcasing the unique culture and culinary offerings of the Philippines.
Partnering with local dealers—Nissan Cebu North under Nissan Cebu Distributors Inc., Nissan Cebu Central under AutoSynergy Inc., and Nissan Cebu South under the Gateway Group—Nissan has provided 50 vehicles, including the Terra, Urvan, and the Kicks e-POWER Sport, to transport delegates during the events.
The Kicks e-POWER Sport, Nissan’s latest limited edition subcompact SUV, features a sporty design with exclusive Galaxy Black paint and body kits, including silver-painted front, side, and rear skirts, as well as a rear roof spoiler.
“We are proud to be partnered with the Department of Tourism as the event’s official mobility partner,” stated Nissan Philippines President Yasuhisa Masuda. “Our longstanding collaboration with the DOT, highlighted by initiatives like Drive Pinas, reflects our shared commitment to promoting local tourism and showcasing the best of the Philippines.”
In 2023, Nissan and the DOT renewed their partnership through Drive Pinas, focusing on promoting local tourism with Nissan’s vehicles and highlighting diverse destinations and cultures, aiming for inclusive and sustainable tourism.
