The 9th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), organized by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI), wrapped up on a high note, attracting a record-breaking crowd of approximately 42,000 attendees from October 24-27 at the World Trade Center. Under the theme “Dare. Drive. The Future Redefined,” this year’s event showcased the latest advancements from 17 of the country’s premier automotive brands.
Transformative Leadership and Industry Alignment
The Opening Ceremony featured Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista as Special Guest of Honor. Secretary Bautista emphasized the critical role of the automotive industry in advancing sustainable transport solutions, reinforcing the synergy between PIMS and the government’s efforts to promote innovation in mobility.
Showcasing Cutting-Edge Technology and Future-Ready Vehicles
The four-day event provided a platform for automotive brands to present their latest offerings, with a focus on sustainability, safety, and innovation tailored to the Filipino market. Highlights included:
- BMW: Showcased luxury electric and hybrid models, such as the ultra-premium XM Label Red and the all-electric i5 M60 Touring, targeting discerning buyers who value performance and sustainability.
- Changan Auto: Unveiled the Hunter RE-EV, the world’s first Range-Extended Electric pickup, designed for outdoor adventures.
- Chery: Launched the New 2025 Tiggo 2 Pro, a youthful and stylish crossover SUV, alongside a preview of the New Tiggo 5x Pro, appealing to style-conscious modern drivers.
- Daewoo: Presented the Philippine-made Daewoo Bus BS106 and CMANC’s Iconic Modern Jeepney, exemplifying Filipino craftsmanship.
- Ford: Introduced the new Ranger Raptor 3.0L V6, a high-performance pickup engineered for rugged terrain, along with the Bronco, Mustang, and Explorer.
- Foton: Previewed the all-electric Traveller Sierra Van and the versatile Wonder Pickup, focusing on solutions for small businesses and adventure seekers.
- Honda: Launched the New Civic RS e
, the brand’s first hybrid Civic in the Philippines, and introduced exclusive MUGEN variants alongside a flexible leasing program. - Hyundai: Featured hybrid models like the SANTA FE and TUCSON, as well as the friendly robot companion Spot, highlighting Hyundai’s diverse lineup.
- Isuzu: Debuted an electric N-Series truck and a luxurious mu-X Executive Edition, balancing utility with elevated comfort.
- Jetour: Unveiled the JETOUR X50 subcompact SUV and the T2 Terminator 4×4 SUV, designed for both urban and off-road adventures.
- Kia: Premiered the EV9, a full-sized electric SUV, showcasing the brand’s commitment to leading the way in electric mobility.
- Mazda: Launched the AutoExe Customization Program, offering tuning parts and accessories to enhance vehicle ownership experiences.
- MG: Previewed the All-New MG HS PHEV and launched various models, underscoring a comprehensive approach to hybrid and electric mobility.
- Mitsubishi: Held its first-ever global premiere in the Philippines, introducing the DST Concept alongside new models like the XFORCE and Triton.
- Nissan: Highlighted its daring innovations, including the X-Trail e-Power and the All-New Z NISMO, reflecting a commitment to technological advancement.
- Suzuki: Introduced the Jimny Rhino Edition and the eVX electric concept, catering to eco-conscious and adventure-loving audiences.
- Toyota: Emphasized its “Beyond Zero” vision with models like the bZ4X and the hydrogen-fueled Corolla Cross H2 Concept, advancing the goal of carbon neutrality.
CAMPI’s Community Commitment
Staying true to its mission of social responsibility, CAMPI pledged PHP 500,000 to the Angat Buhay Foundation to aid Typhoon Kristine victims. “We believe in giving back to our community, especially during challenging times,” said CAMPI President Atty. Rommel Gutierrez.
