What can Filipino car buyers expect from the VinFast VF 6?

VinFast’s latest entry into the local EV market, the VF 6, promises a compelling combination of premium features, practical design, and affordability—an appealing formula for Filipino SUV buyers. Unveiled at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show, the all-electric VF 6 is poised to redefine what value means in the subcompact SUV segment.

Designed with urban and provincial driving in mind, the VF 6 offers comfort and efficiency for everyday commutes across Metro Manila and weekend drives beyond the city. Available in two variants—Eco (PHP 1,419,000) and Plus (PHP 1,610,000)—the VF 6 also comes with a buyback program of up to 90% of the vehicle’s original value, further enhancing its cost-effectiveness.

Performance and practicality go hand-in-hand with the VF 6. The Plus variant delivers 150 kW of power and 310 Nm of torque, making highway driving and overtaking effortless. It’s equipped with 20 advanced driver-assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and collision warnings, helping reduce fatigue during long drives.

Interior space is surprisingly generous thanks to a 2,730 mm wheelbase, with seating for up to five adults. The ride comfort has also received positive feedback for its balance between stability and smoothness, even on rough roads. A standout feature is the 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that includes remote battery monitoring, car location tracking, and climate pre-conditioning—practical additions for the Philippine climate.

With an NEDC-rated range of 480 km per charge, range anxiety is significantly reduced. Combined with VinFast’s partner V-GREEN’s goal of installing 15,000 charging ports nationwide by 2025, long-distance EV travel is becoming more viable across the country.

Maintenance and ownership costs are also remarkably low. One VF 6 owner in Vietnam reportedly spent just PHP 750 for servicing after 12,000 kilometers—less than the average upkeep for a motorcycle. With no oil changes and lower electricity costs compared to fuel, the savings accumulate over time.

To support its customers, VinFast offers a comprehensive seven-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty, and aims to establish 100 authorized service centers across the Philippines by the end of 2025 through partnerships with Motech and JIGA.

The VinFast VF 6 offers a complete package for Filipino drivers seeking to transition into electric mobility—bringing together performance, practicality, and long-term value without compromise.
