The New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) has given the Jetour T2 a five-star safety rating after getting an overall score of 86.50 points.

Similar to other ASEAN NCAP crash tests, such as with the Suzuki Fronx Hybrid, the test is divided into four categories: Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), Child Occupant Protection (COP), Safety Assist (SA), and Motorcyclist Safety (MS). The Jetour T2, as attested by the ASEAN NCAP, performed well in all categories, allowing it to receive a five-star safety rating.

“Getting a 5-Star ASEAN NCAP rating for the Jetour T2 is a huge win for us and, more importantly, for Filipino drivers. We built the T2 to handle rugged adventures, but also to keep families safe and worry-free on every trip,” Jetour Auto Philippines Inc. Managing Director Miguelito Jose said.

The Jetour T2 scored 37.17 points in the AOP category, and the ASEAN NCAP noted that the T2’s frontal occupant compartment remained stable in the frontal offset test. In the COP category, the T2 scored 15.94 points, while it scored 17.14 points in the SA category and 16.25 points in the MS category.

Under the SA category, the ASEAN NCAP is assessing the functionality and effectiveness of the vehicle’s Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) technology. It is then divided into two tests: AEB City (car-to-car rear stationary) and AEB Inter-Urban (car-to-car rear moving). The Jetour T2 is equipped with both the AEB City and Inter-Urban systems as optional across all its variants. The ASEAN NCAP confirmed that the AEB tech equipped on the T2 has functioned according to its standards.

The Blind Spot Detection (BSD), on the other hand, is the tech being tested under the MS category. This feature is assessed to see how effective it is at spotting motorcycles on the road. The Jetour T2 is equipped with BSD on both sides of the vehicle as standard fitment across all its variants. In the assessment, the ASEAN NCAP confirms the technology has functioned according to its requirements.

Jetour Philippines shares that the T2 also comes with advanced safety assist technologies as optional equipment, comprising AEB Pedestrian, Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Auto High Beam (AHB), and AEB for motorcycles.
