Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast continued its rapid growth trajectory in the first quarter of 2026. Per its latest sales report, the company has reached a 41.7% increase in revenue and strong gains in vehicle deliveries across domestic and international markets.

In more detail, VinFast announced that first-quarter revenue topped at US$920.7 million (VND23.1 trillion in Vietnamese money or P56.8 billion in local exchange rate). This is driven largely by higher EV sales volumes in Vietnam and growing contributions from overseas markets including the Philippines, Indonesia, and India.

VinFast delivered 58,577 EVs worldwide during the quarter, marking a 61% year-on-year increase. International markets accounted for around 8% of total deliveries, underscoring the brand’s ongoing global expansion strategy.

The automaker maintained its position as the top automotive manufacturer in Vietnam, a title it has held since September 2024. Beyond its home market, VinFast reported encouraging results across Southeast Asia and South Asia, ranking as the number one battery electric vehicle (BEV) brand in the Philippines, fourth in India, and eighth in Indonesia.

The company’s electric two-wheeler business also recorded remarkable growth. VinFast delivered 143,136 e-scooters and e-bikes in the first quarter, representing a 219% increase compared to the same period last year. In March alone, it received more than 135,000 e-scooter orders and shipped over 93,000 units to dealers throughout Vietnam.

As demand continues to grow, VinFast is expanding its retail and after-sales footprint. By the end of the first quarter, customers could access VinFast products through 447 showrooms globally. The company also recently signed agreements with 29 new after-sales partners and aims to establish more than 1,100 service workshops worldwide by the end of 2026.

VinFast is likewise accelerating development in autonomous driving technology. At COMPUTEX 2026, the company announced a strategic collaboration with NVIDIA and Autobrains to develop a next-generation Level 4 autonomous vehicle program for Southeast Asia.

Looking ahead, VinFast plans to further strengthen its manufacturing, assembly, and distribution capabilities while exploring additional vehicle segments, smart mobility solutions, and advanced technologies. The company believes rising global demand for electrification and energy-efficient transportation will continue to create opportunities for long-term growth.

Autocar’s Take

VinFast’s latest results show that its aggressive push into the global EV market is beginning to translate into measurable gains. The company’s strong EV sales growth, expanding dealer network, and leadership position in markets such as the Philippines suggest that consumers are now open to new electric mobility brands. VinFast is not relying solely on vehicle sales. Its investments in after-sales support, electric two-wheelers, and autonomous driving technology indicate a long-term strategy.
