For electric vehicle (EV) owners, access to charging facilities is vital. But many stations come with charging costs that some EV owners may not be able to afford. To lessen the burden, Vietnamese carmaker VinFast has launched a program that allows its EV owners nationwide to have their cars charged up for free.
The VinFast nationwide free EV charging program is made possible through its partnership with V-Green, a Vietnamese EV charging infrastructure firm.
In more detail, VinFast clarified that the program will run until May 1, 2027, and is open to current and future VinFast models sold locally. The company projects that the program will help alleviate the financial burden associated with accessing EV charging stations.
VinFast explains that, with the fluctuating costs of fuel prices, the initiative could translate to substantial savings for daily drivers, families, and long-distance travellers. In short, it’s like getting free fuel for almost two years.
The program is aimed at helping VinFast owners save money for more important things in life. According to VinFast, savings from free EV charging could be comparable to what motorists typically spend on fuel over a period of years. This positions EVs as more affordable and sustainable alternatives to traditional vehicles.
The car brand’s partnership with V-Green is central to this initiative. Recently, V-Green announced that it’s committed to expanding its EV charging network to as many as 15,000 stations across the Philippines by the end of 2025. These stations are being deployed in high-traffic areas, including malls, expressways, and business districts, among others. The wider network aims to reduce range anxiety, one of the biggest concerns of EV owners.

Beyond free EV charging, VinFast says that it continues to offer long-term benefits for its customers. VinFast units, along with their EV batteries, are covered by up to 10 years or 200,000 km of warranty. Additionally, VinFast is expanding its dealer and service networks nationwide to ensure high-quality after-sales support.
VinFast concludes with a reassurance that the free EV charging program aligns with the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA), which exempts EVs from excise tax and provides incentives such as priority registration and access to designated green lanes.
