Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is recalling select Lexus RZ and LX700h units as part of its Customer Satisfaction Campaign. The recall is launched to address the faulty ECU and air conditioning system of the said Lexus vehicles.

Lexus Philippines shared that the affected RZ vehicles could have an issue with the programming of the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) control ECU software. The HVAC system may enter a failsafe mode, which will then turn off the heater operation and reduce the vehicle’s defroster performance.

When that happens, the vehicle’s defrosting performance may be reduced, and it may be unable to remove fog from the windshield. This results in reduced driver visibility that could potentially increase the risk of a crash.

Lexus PH said that 173 units of the RZ450e AWD variant produced from November 28, 2023, to February 23, 2024, are included in the safety recall. Moreover, 20 units of the RZ450e FWD produced from February 20, 2023, to December 22, 2023, are also part of the recall.

On the other hand, select Lexus LX700h models are being recalled due to the incorrect programming of the learning conditions for fuel injection. Lexus explains that the vehicle’s ECU may misread normal fuel pressure variations during engine warm-up, which could trigger the engine warning light to turn on.

It can also activate the LX700h’s failsafe driving mode, wherein it can still be driven but with limited power and a reduced speed of approximately 60 km/h.

A total of 36 Lexus LX700h units that were produced from January 9, 2025, to July 15, 2025, are part of the safety recall.
