Toyota unveiled the Hiace Concept at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show, which features a modern-looking design that makes the car brand’s van have a more upscale design.

At first glance, one can argue that the Hiace Concept can readily compete with the current-spec Hyundai Staria in terms of having a modern and futuristic-like look. The Toyota Hiace Concept’s front end is fitted with L-shaped illumination, which surrounds the lighted ‘Toyota’ emblem. It comes with a large bumper that’s integrated with square patterns, which is somehow similar to Hyundai’s ‘pixel’ lighting design on the Staria.

The boxy body is still present, but the Hiace Concept has a more seamless design thanks to the muted character lines. This allowed Toyota’s van to have a boxy yet softer exterior look. The comparison with the Hyundai Staria continues to be an argument when you look into the front side windows of the Hiace Concept. Same with the Staria, Toyota’s van now has larger windows for better visibility.

The Toyota Hiace concept separates itself from the Staria once you turn to its side. The side profile of the Hiace looks different than most vans we see on the market today. It has slim windows, with the opening placed at the top, which provides privacy to the occupants.

The widows are designed to appear to wrap around the rear windshield, creating a seamless design. The rear is fitted with horizontal tail lights and a large window.

Inside, the Toyota Hiace concept comes with a straightforward dashboard layout. It has a modern-looking steering wheel that’s integrated with buttons. The vehicle also has physical buttons, with the gear selector designed as seamlessly as possible. What you can appreciate here is that the Hiace concept’s dashboard has a wide panoramic screen, which shows essential vehicle information.

The are no details yet as of this writing with regard to the Toyota Hiace’s powertrain.
