TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) Asia proudly announces the 15 finalists set to compete in the Gazoo Racing Gran Turismo (GR GT) Cup Asia Finals 2024 – a thrilling e-Motorsports event played on Gran Turismo 7 for PlayStation®5 (PS5®) and PlayStation®4 (PS4®). The highly anticipated finals will take place on 13 October 2024 at the Connexion Conference and Event Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where top racers from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand will compete for a coveted spot in the global GR GT Cup later this year.

The Connexion Conference and Event Centre, equipped with floor-to-ceiling screens, is designed to enhance the racing experience for participants and spectators alike.

GR GT Cup Asia: Format of Play

This year’s finalists represent the best e-racing talent from across the region, including defending champion Andika Rama from Indonesia, who has consistently ranked among the top for the past two years, along with crowd favorites Taj Aiman from Malaysia and Thanaphat Pungphat from Thailand.

Representing the Philippines are Luis Moreno, last year’s Asia Finals runner-up, Russel Reyes, and newcomer Enzo Ison, who emerged victorious after competing against 40 of the country’s top sim racers at the National Finals held in August at SM Mall of Asia.

The top three racers from each participating country qualified through local races and will now compete in the Asia Finals. In this intense competition, 15 racers will battle across three exhilarating races on iconic circuits.

Final Race Details

The Asia Finals will feature three challenging racetracks, each testing a combination of speed, strategy, and skill. Using a point system, the overall champion will be determined by cumulative scores. Racetracks include the Sardegna Windmills, Nürburgring GP, and Fuji Speedway – offering a mix of familiar tracks and unpredictable elements.

The top two racers will earn spots in the Global Finals later this year, competing for a share of a USD $61,000 prize pool.
