The next-generation Toyota Hilux made its debut in November 2025, featuring a revamped exterior design that’s evident on its front end. Now, Australian digital creator Theottle has reimagined what the Toyota Fortuner would look like if it were fitted with a similar front end that’s seen on its pickup truck sibling.
The unofficial render images give us a hint as to what the possibilities could be when Toyota decides to introduce the updated Fortuner. The Hilux’s front end makes the Fortuner a sharper and more assertive midsize SUV, thanks to the honeycomb grille, angular front bumper, and slim headlights. The overall fascia looks arguably well-suited to the Fortuner’s overall dimensions, and it is also refreshing to see the Fortuner with an updated design, as it has been wearing almost the same front end for quite some time now.
The unofficial images also show the Fortuner’s reimagined side profile, which is presented as more chiseled than the current model sold in the Philippines. It veers away from the sleek character lines, as the render images show crisp lines that run on the Fortuner’s side profile. Theottle also made the Fortuner’s fenders more prominent, adding muscle to the SUV’s overall appearance, while the wheels add style points.

The rear also gets unofficial design updates, which can be seen instantly on the taillights. The artist ditched the Fortuner’s distinctive taillights and decided to integrate them with a horizontal light pattern. The taillights are also made to appear as if they are clustered into one piece. However, we can’t help but compare the similarities of the light design to the likes of the Peugeot 2008, 3008, and 5008.
Of note, the images you’re seeing here are unofficial and a product of Theottle’s artistic imagination. These render images did not come from Toyota, and it has yet to release updates on whether it will be launching a new Fortuner sometime in the future.
