Korean car brand Hyundai has officially introduced the Staria Electric, marking the first full-electric iteration of its popular multipurpose people carrier. Pegged as a practical and spacious zero-emission mobility solution, the new Hyundai Staria Electric aims to serve a broad range of customers in both private and commercial markets.

Built around Hyundai’s “Inside-Out” designed philosophy, the Staria Electric combines EV-specific styling with the characteristic one-curve silhouette the Staria lineup is known for.  In detail, the exterior features a closed front grille and simplified geometric surfaces that enhance both aerodynamic efficiency and its electric vehicle (EV) identity. A continuous horizontal light signature accentuates the vehicle’s width and modern aesthetic. In profile, wide sliding doors make entering and exiting the vehicle a breeze, while a large rear opening allows easy loading and unloading of cargo.

Inside, it offers one of the most generous cabin spaces in its class. The flat‑floor layout and low beltline create an open, lounge-like environment that maximizes headroom, legroom and overall comfort across all seating rows. Hyundai has introduced two distinct configurations at launch – a 7‑seat Luxury variant for family and leisure use, and a 9‑seat Wagon variant designed for larger groups, shuttle operations or commercial use. Storage adaptability is taken care of by the Staria Electric’s integrated components, further enhancing practicality.

The Staria Electric’s powertrain centers on an an 84 kWh battery paired with a 160 kW electric motor that drives the front wheels. The vehicle uses an 800-Volt electrical architecture, a technology it shares with the brand’s Ioniq model lineup. This enables rapid DC fast charging from 10% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes under optimal conditions. Hyundai claims that the Staria Electric records an estimated driving range of up to 400 km, placing the vehicle among the longest-range electric multipurpose minivan today.

Hyundai has also fitted the Staria Electric with features that extend its functions beyond mobility. For starters, its vehicle‑to‑load (V2L) capability allows its battery pack to run external devices for outdoor work or camping activities. The latest Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) infotainment system with dual 12.3‑inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over‑the‑air (OTA) updates, and advanced driver‑assistance systems (ADAS) enhances usability and safety.

Hyundai says the production of the Staria Electric is set to begin in Korea, with sales commencing in the region, as well as in Europe in the first half of 2026. Additional global regions will follow soon. The brand has stated that the detailed regional launch timelines and specifications will be revealed closer to each market’s introduction.
