Subaru unveils two STI concept cars at 2025 JMS

Subaru launches a one-two punch at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show (JMS) as it unveiled two STI concept cars: Performance-E STI and Performance-B STI. The two STI concept vehicles are part of the car brand’s 2025 JMS theme, “Driving the Subaru Difference.”  

Subaru shared that its theme is guided by its philosophy of human-centered manufacturing. The Japanese car brand added that it has been its commitment to continuously refine its technologies and products to deliver “Enjoyment and Peace of Mind.”

The Subaru Performance-E STI is a battery electric vehicle (BEV) concept that is meant to represent the car brand’s future. Subaru said that it combines thrilling aesthetic proportions with outstanding aerodynamics and practicality. It comes with a sporty-looking exterior that’s complemented by sharp character lines, a design combo that makes the Performance-E STI’s front end have an assertive and confident look.

The side profile comes with crisp character lines as well as wide wheel arches. The sporty appearance is further accentuated due to the glossy side skirt. The rear, on the other hand, comes with a massive diffuser, lip rear spoiler, and distinctive taillights.

Moving on to the Performance-B STI, a concept car that features an internal combustion engine (ICE). Subaru said that its design team for the Performance-B STI concept developed a balance of advanced performance and power with practicality. 

Subaru used its years of experience by integrating design elements that it has honed, which include a horizontally-opposed engine and Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. The Performance-B STI concept has a striking front end that features a bold bumper, black grille, and the familiar Subaru LED headlights.

It also comes with a hood scoop, which adds to the concept’s overall appeal. Turning to the side, it has sharp character lines, muscular wheel arches, and side skirts. The rear is equipped with a large spoiler that’s finished in gloss black with a red accent. The bumper is integrated with black cladding, giving the vehicle a sporty yet rugged look.

The 2025 JMS is held at the Tokyo Big Sight and will run until November 9.
