In preparation for the upcoming National Elections on May 12 and the celebration of Mother’s Day on May 11, the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) has launched “Oplan Biyaheng Ayos” to manage the anticipated increase in passenger volume over the long weekend.

From May 5 to 13, PITX expects to accommodate over 1.2 million travelers returning to their home provinces to cast their votes and reunite with loved ones. As one of the country’s key land transportation hubs, PITX plays a critical role in ensuring both the smooth flow of election-related travel and the safe movement of holiday commuters.

To facilitate a safe and efficient travel experience, PITX is working in close coordination with the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), and the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Security protocols have been intensified across the terminal. Law enforcement officers, K9 units, and roving security personnel have been deployed 24/7. Assistance desks and real-time monitoring systems have been activated to help manage congestion, track bus dispatches, and ensure uninterrupted operations. Additional ground crew and customer service personnel are stationed throughout the facility to assist travelers and maintain order.

While Mother’s Day adds a sentimental backdrop to this weekend’s travel, PITX remains steadfast in its commitment to providing a safe, clean, and commuter-friendly environment. The terminal continues to offer vital amenities including accessible restrooms, comfortable waiting lounges, and designated boarding gates for both provincial and city-bound routes.

“This weekend brings together two meaningful events—our national elections and Mother’s Day. PITX is fully prepared to support the safe and convenient travel of every passenger during this time,” said Jason Salvador, Corporate Affairs and Government Relations Director of PITX.

PITX advises all passengers to plan ahead, allocate extra travel time, and stay informed by following PITX’s official social media pages for real-time updates and announcements.
