The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) proudly announces its inclusion in Phase 1 of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) Cavite Extension, becoming the country’s first intermodal hub to integrate both road and rail systems. This milestone enables smoother connectivity across buses, jeepneys, UV express, and rail services, significantly improving transit options for thousands of daily commuters.

Phase 1 of the LRT-1 Cavite Extension connects Baclaran to PITX, enhancing regional mass transit and providing a convenient transfer point for seamless travel between Metro Manila and southern areas. This link reduces travel times and eases dependency on road-based transportation.

Expanded Route Offerings for Commuters

PITX currently acts as a major gateway to destinations throughout Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Bicol, Baguio, and Davao, connecting over 100 routes. The hub now includes new long-haul routes to San Carlos City, Dagupan City (Pangasinan), Tuguegarao (Cagayan), San Jose (Antique), and Pintuyan (Southern Leyte). These expansions, along with popular routes to Baguio City and other provinces, help PITX meet diverse commuting needs, providing better access between PITX’s extensive bus network and the LRT-1 system.

“Elevating Commuting Experiences”

Jason Salvador, Corporate Affairs and Government Relations Director of PITX, emphasized that the partnership with the LRT-1 Extension strengthens PITX’s position as the leading gateway for intermodal connectivity in the Philippines. “It’s about enhancing the daily lives of our commuters by providing safe, convenient, and sustainable travel options,” Salvador stated. “We look forward to witnessing the positive impacts of this rail-road integration on the public transportation landscape.”

The Future of Metro Manila’s Transit Ecosystem

The integration of the PITX and LRT-1 signals a new era of connectivity for Metro Manila, with Phase 1 of the LRT-1 Cavite Extension just the first step. PITX is set to continue leading efforts to make Metro Manila’s transit system more accessible, reliable, and sustainable, advancing the vision of a more interconnected and commuter-friendly region.
