The Philippine auto industry is gearing up for one of its most important gatherings in recent years. Yes, the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) is back, and will happen from June 4 to 7, 2026 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. Organized by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI), the biennial event marks its 10th edition with renewed significance, arriving at a time when both global and local market conditions are rapidly shifting.

This edition of PIMS will highlight 17 car brands, representing the core of the country’s mainstream vehicle market. These include BAIC, Chery, Foton, Geely, Honda, Isuzu, Jetour, Kia, MG, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Omoda & Jaecoo, Subaru, Suzuki, Tesla, Toyota, and VinFast. These carmakers form a mix of long-established leaders and fast-rising challengers reshaping the Philippine auto industry to what it is today — varied, competitive, and thriving despite economic and global challenges.

In more detail, visitors can expect around 150 cars on display, ranging from refreshed volume drivers to potential new launches and future concepts that could change the local car industry’s direction in years to come. While PIMS has traditionally been a platform for product reveals, this year’s edition is expected to go further by highlighting industry-driven shifts in technology and consumer demand.

The most compelling reason for this is the continued tension in the Middle East, which has affected oil and fuel prices in global markets over the past few months. In response, efficiency and sustainability have become more than just talking points — they are now central to buying decisions.

This is where the show’s core theme, “Forward in Everyday Dive,” becomes of great significance. Electrified mobility is expected to take a prominent role across multiple booths. Hybrid vehicles are now firmly embedded in lineups from brands such as Toyota, Honda, and Nissan. Battery-electric vehicles, on the other hand, continues to expand through players like MG, Hyundai, and Kia. Even manufacturers with strong commercial vehicle roots, including Isuzu and Foton, are beginning to signal their transition toward lower-emission solutions.

As PIMS reaches its 10th staging, it stands not just as a display of vehicles, but as an example of an industry navigating change. It also bridges the gap between today’s industry behavior and tomorrow’s future trends that could become the norm in years to come.

Autocar’s Take

With fuel prices still vulnerable to global tensions, the shift toward electrified mobility is no longer theoretical — it is becoming necessary. And the 10th staging of PIMs reflects this reality. But what shines here is how mainstream brands are now leading that transition.

Toyota, for example, will likely showcase its recently launched RAV4 HEV and Urban Cruiser hybrid and battery-electric models, respectively. Of course, its traditional gasoline-powered Gazoo Racing (GR) models, particularly the GR Corolla, will most likely grace the occasion to wow the crowd. Meanwhile, Honda is expected to bring its e:HEV models to the floor, as well as its newest addition — the Prelude hybrid sports coupe.

The list goes on, but the exciting part here is that, per experience, many of the brands will likely unveil surprise displays, which will make some buzz long after the event’s four-day staging. PIMS 2026 may not instantly change buyer behavior, especially given infrastructure gaps, but it will shape perception. For many visitors, this could be their first close look at electrified options from familiar nameplates.
