In today’s era of prioritizing the environment for the future, car companies have a significant responsibility to demonstrate their commitment to the community by championing the cause. Aside from launching quality cars and generating sales, many industry names are also now prioritizing environmental conservation and protection through numerous corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

One such car brand is Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC). Because of the Japanese carmaker’s contributions to environmental sustainability and community initiatives, it has been recognized by the City Government of Santa Rosa, Laguna, at the recent Gearing towards Robust, Engaging, and Eco-friendly Neighborhoods (GREEN) Awards 2025.

The GREEN Awards celebrate organizations and institutions that demonstrate strong environmental responsibility. MMPC was given two awards – the Sustainable Development Partner Award and the Earth Hour Advocate Award.

The recognition highlights MMPC’s role, not only as one of the top car brands in the Philippines, but also as an active community partner in Santa Rosa, where its manufacturing facility is located. MMPC was recognized for its ongoing efforts to align with Santa Rosa’s sustainability agenda, particularly in spearheading environmental programs and fostering strong collaboration with the local government and stakeholders.

MMPC Safety, Health & Environment Vice President, Marfel Ancheta, emphasized the company’s long-term commitment to sustainability. The executive went on to say, “This honor from the City of Santa Rosa affirms our shared commitment to sustainability. We remain dedicated to pursuing initiatives that help protect the environment and create long-term value for the community we serve.”
