Isuzu Global Service Corporation (IGSC) marked its 10th anniversary, highlighting a decade of developing highly-trained Filipino service specialists for Isuzu’s global truck network. Established in 2015 in Bacoor, Cavite, IGSC was formed to strengthen Isuzu’s worldwide service capabilities by preparing mechanics with advanced technical skills for commercial vehicle servicing.

Over the years, IGSC has evolved into a key training institution within Isuzu Motors Ltd. S-Class Isuzu engineers design its programs and directly support the service requirements of Isuzu dealerships in the Philippines and abroad. Guided by its mission to cultivate engineers proficient in Isuzu’s specialized systems, IGSC continues to position Filipino talent for global opportunities. The English language serves as a core advantage in international dealer operations.

IGSC is closely aligned with the Isuzu Heart and Smile Program (IHSP), Isuzu’s long-running educational advocacy in Tacloban, Leyte. IHSP graduates who seek higher technical specialization may apply for IGSC’s selective three-year program. There, candidates undergo written exams, interviews, and hands-on evaluations before being accepted into the program.

In more detail, the first phase of the program involves seven months of in-house technical training covering diagnostics, electrical systems, chassis and engine servicing, truck maintenance, and Isuzu product knowledge. The curriculum includes more than 60 modules and over 1,000 training hours. Trainees are then deployed for two years to IGSC partner companies as service mechanics or service trainers, gaining extensive real-world experience. A final three-month Nihongo language training equips them for possible placements in Japan.

IGSC has produced more than 120 trained mechanics now deployed across Isuzu’s global networks, including Japan, Dubai, Africa, and numerous dealership groups in the Philippines. The institution also plays an expanding role in new model preparation, service manual development, dealer consultin,g and technical support across the ASEAN region and other markets.

“For the past decade, IGSC has grown because we never stopped believing in the power and potential of people. Our mechanics, trainers, and partners embody the Isuzu Spirit — reliable, dedicated, and always striving to grow. Through these initiatives, IGSC remains a testament to Isuzu’s belief in Filipino potential and its long-term commitment to human resource development as a cornerstone of Isuzu’s global success. As we enter our next decade, we will continue developing future leaders, empowering more Filipino talent, and strengthening IGSC as a bridge between countries, generations, and aspirations,” shared IGSC President Fumihiro Ishii.
