GWM Philippines is gearing up for the arrival of the Haval H9 SUV, as the company is now accepting reservations ahead of its official debut. While no launch date has been announced as of this writing, the brand is actively teasing the model through its social media channels, confirming that the H9 is slated to join its local vehicle lineup.
GWM previewed the H9 earlier at this year’s Manila International Motor Show (MIAS). This gave Filipinos a sneak peek of the brand’s upcoming flagship SUV. Since then, interests have steadily grown, prompting several dealerships to open reservation lists for customers wanting to secure their allocations ahead of the launch. Official pricing and technical specifications for the Philippine market have yet to be released. But early indications suggest that the model will arrive with the same powertrain and configuration published earlier this year during its MIAS preview.
The GWM Haval H9 is designed to meet the demand of modern mobility. Developed using the brand’s 6th-generation off-road platform, it’s motivated by a 2.4-liter turbocharged diesel engine paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, delivering strong performance and efficiency. It also features an intelligent torque-on-demand 4WD system, complemented by mechanical locking differentials, allowing it to maintain traction and stability in a wide range of driving conditions. The interior features large touchscreen displays, multi-zone climate control, and available heated and ventilated seating. These amenities reflect GWM’s push to offer premium comfort in a rugged, go-anywhere platform.
With anticipations growing among SUV and off-road aficionados ahead of the Haval H9’s local launch, the GWM Haval H9 Cross-Country Edition comes to mind. Recently launched in China, the H9 Cross-Country Edition features increased ground clearance, all-terrain tires, a dual-fuel tank system offering extended driving range, and more off-road drive modes such as Rock and Expert. This edition also offers five- and seven-seat layouts with upgraded seating functions. Of note, GWM Philippines has yet to announce whether this variant will be introduced locally, but its China debut opens doors for future expansion of the H9 lineup.
With reservations now underway through its official website, GWM Philippines is all set for a strong debut of the Haval H9. More details, including pricing, features, and available variants, are expected to surface as the launch date nears.
