Inchcape Philippines and Stellantis have agreed to conclude their distribution partnership for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram (CDJR) in the Philippines by the end of June 2027, marking a significant shift in the local automotive distribution landscape. Despite ending its stewardship of the American brands, Inchcape says it remains committed to the Philippine market and is preparing for its next phase of growth.

The company said the decision is part of its regular portfolio review process, which aims to keep its brand lineup aligned with long-term business priorities and growth opportunities. Rather than signaling an exit from the country, Inchcape said it will concentrate its investments on areas where it sees stronger potential for sustainable expansion.

Alex Hammett, Managing Director for South Asia and Pacific at Inchcape, said the company will continue working closely with Stellantis throughout the transition period to support customers, dealers, and business partners while honoring its existing commitments. He added that Inchcape’s focus will be on strengthening its existing portfolio while bringing new products to customers in the Philippines.

The distributor confirmed that it will continue supporting the brands that remain under its Philippine operations, including Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar Land Rover, Changan, Harley-Davidson, and Mazda. Reports also indicate that Inchcape is exploring opportunities to add more automotive brands to its local portfolio as it redirects resources following the conclusion of the CDJR partnership.

For existing Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram owners, the transition is expected to be gradual. Sales operations, aftersales services, warranty coverage, and parts support are expected to continue through the authorized dealer network until the partnership officially concludes in June 2027, giving customers and dealers ample time to prepare for the eventual change.

The announcement comes roughly three years after Inchcape assumed distribution of the CDJR brands in the Philippines. While the partnership will end locally, Inchcape noted that it continues to work with Stellantis in other international markets, underscoring the companies’ broader global relationship.

What remains unanswered is who will eventually take over the distribution of CDJR once Inchcape’s appointment ends. Neither company has identified a successor, leaving the future direction of the four American brands in the Philippines open for now.

Until then, Inchcape and Stellantis said they will work together to ensure a smooth transition while maintaining support for customers throughout the remainder of their partnership.

Autocar’s Take

From an observer’s perspective, this announcement is not a company walking away. Rather, it appears to be a strategic realignment. The local automotive market has become more competitive, and distributors are focusing on brands with the strongest long-term potential.

While the end of the CDJR partnership may disappoint loyal enthusiasts, the commitment to continue sales, aftersales support, and warranty services until mid-2027 should provide reassurance. The bigger story now is what comes next for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram. This is an interesting situation that is expected to develop in months to come.
