GAC Motor Philippines, under the helm of its official local distributor, Astara, is on the move to expand its dealer network in Mindanao anew. This time, the Chinese carmaker pins the new location in Tagum City, which will become its third location in Davao and its 35th dealership in the country.

The soon-to-rise facility is located at Barangay Libertad in Canocotan, Tagum City. It will be operated by Davao Bonifacio Motor Inc. (DBMI), which also manages GAC’s Davao City dealership. GAC targets the opening of the new dealership in Q3 of 2026. Astara says that the new dealership aims to strengthen GAC’s presence in Davao, providing easier access to its vehicles and services for customers in the region and its surrounding areas, particularly in General Santos.

In more detail, GAC Tagum will have a 400 sqm showroom and a 1,000 sqm service area. Once operational, the facility will be one of GAC’s 3S dealerships, offering vehicle sales, service, and spare parts availability. GAC says that the new Tagum dealership adheres to its brand’s global showroom and service standards.

Present during the groundbreaking ceremony were DBMI and Astara executives, including DBMI President David Ross Bonifacio, Dealer Principals Andri Ross Recto and Dr. Justine Marie Lucero, and Adriana Recto, as well as Astara Philippines representatives.

Luis Torres, Country Manager of Astara Philippines, shared, “We’re pleased to break ground in yet another progressive location with our trusted partner, Davao Bonifacio Motor Inc. As we continue to expand across the country, our mission remains the same: to bring world-class mobility solutions closer to more Filipino communities through innovation, excellence, and meaningful partnerships.”

To date, GAC Motor Philippines’ lineup includes the Empow sedan, Emzoom crossover, Emkoo compact SUV, GS8 mid-size SUV, as well as MPVs such as the M6 Pro and M8. GAC also recently introduced the Emkoo Hybrid, its contender in the rapidly growing local hybrid market. GAC shared that all vehicles come with a five-year or 150,000 km comprehensive after-sales warranty, whichever comes first. This is paired with a 24/7 emergency roadside assistance service for the first year of vehicle purchase.
