Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), marketer of Caltex fuels and lubricants, and Caltex Makati Credit Cooperative (CMCC) celebrated the season of giving through its 2025 Volunteer Day. CPI and CMCC partnered with non-government organization Guanella Center, Inc., to share happiness with persons with disabilities (PWDs).

Aside from sharing happiness this holiday season, CPI and CMCC’s Volunteer Day reinforces the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion for underserved sectors in the Philippines. CPI and CMCC shared that they spent quality time with resident PWD beneficiaries through fun games and a shared meal.

The company said that volunteers presented beneficiaries with eco-friendly jute bags filled with essential apparel such as shirts, shorts, and underwear. It has also handed out Chevron-branded backpacks to the resident PWDs.

The fuel and lubricants company added that the Volunteer Day was made “even more memorable” when the beneficiaries surprised volunteers with lively dance performances to “Golden” from the movie KPop Demon Hunters and NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye.”

Guanella Center Supervisor Albert Ramos said that the Volunteer Day 2025 helped beneficiaries develop social skills and connect with people beyond their home environment.

“This Volunteer Day is important because the beneficiaries are happy when they see new faces at Guanella Home. We hope volunteers realize that children with special needs also need care and compassion from people outside the shelter,” Ramos shared.

CMCC Chairperson Marife Jose expressed that the company wants the beneficiaries to feel valued and happy, as well as to empower people with special needs.

“There’s a special place in our hearts for these individuals whose experiences in society are often marked by added challenges. We want them to feel valued and happy and let them know that there are people who care and respect them,” Jose said.

Newly appointed CPI General Manager and Country Manager Pongtorn “Bon” Tangmanuswong joined his first Volunteer Day in the Philippines and highlighted how music and food bridge connections across cultures.

“We want this advocacy to go beyond a one-day activity. It’s part of our mission to create inclusive spaces for everyone, regardless of background or circumstances. Our programs must continue to help people lead dignified, independent lives.”

Last year, CPI and CMCC partnered with My Children’s House of Hope Bahay Bata 127 Inc. to learn sign language and connect with deaf children, underscoring Chevron’s ongoing commitment to inclusion.
