SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp., the official local distributor of BMW in the Philippines, has introduced the new BMW 318i Professional, a refreshed phase of the German brand’s long-standing benchmark for sports sedans. The launch coincides with the 50th anniversary of the BMW 3 Series, a model that has defined the premium compact car segment since its introduction in 1975.

Following the success of the first 3 Series LCI (Life Cycle Impulse, a term BMW uses to refer to its facelifted models), the 318i Professional, also known as the LCI II, introduces refined updates in design, technology, and interior quality that enhance driving enjoyment and daily comfort. Retaining the classic proportions and sporty character of the 3 Series, this second facelift offers a more dynamic, connected, and premium experience.

On the outside, it boasts a sleek front-end design with an updated bumper, complemented by the brand’s signature kidney grille. It is flanked by a set of sharp-looking LED headlights to complete the look. In profile, BMW equipped the model with a new set of 18-inch V-spoke alloy wheels and the M high gloss shadowline trim. The style is finished off with an updated rear bumper.

Inside, the new 3 Series gets enhanced with Vernasca leather upholstery, sport seats with electric adjustment and memory function, and automatic three-zone climate control. Moreover, the new steering wheel adopts a flat-bottom design, a little visual representation of the brand’s sportier side. A widescreen display running on BMW’s Live Cockpit Plus system serves as the control hub for navigation, entertainment, and vehicle information. It also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, complemented by BMW ConnectedDrive. This feature provides services for real-time navigation, remote functions, and safety updates through the My BMW App.

For safety, the BMW 318i Professional comes with multiple airbags, dynamic stability and traction control, an anti-lock braking system, and run-flat tires, which help the driver safely reach the nearest tire repair shop without worrying about damaging the wheel.  Also, the car’s advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) features parking assist, lane-keeping support, and collision prevention, among others.

Drivers can choose between Comfort, Eco Pro, and Sport modes through BMW’s Driving Experience Control system. BMW says that the 318i Professional’s fuel efficiency is rated at 6.5 liters per 100 km, with CO2 emissions of 146 g/km, figures that underscore the car’s balance of performance and economy.

The BMW 318i Professional is priced at P3,490,000. It comes with a five-year or 200,000 km warranty, whichever comes first. BMW Philippines will offer limited units through its authorized dealerships nationwide, including locations in Autoallee BMW (Eton Centris), RSA Motors (Greenhills and Libis), Pampanga Premier Cars BMW, and Visayas Motor Works in Cebu.
