Ford Philippines once again showcased the expertise of its service technicians and service advisors during its annual Ford Skills Olympics, held for the first time at the new Ford Learning Center in Calamba, Laguna.
The Blue Oval brand said that the 2026 Ford Skills Olympics is a nationwide competition that serves as a platform to strengthen technical capabilities and raise the standards of customer service. Aside from the competition, Ford PH shared that the event shows how dealer service team members play an important role in delivering the brand’s promise of uncompromised quality.
Ford PH added that the Skills Olympics brings together the essential elements of service excellence, which include deep product and technical knowledge, accurate diagnostics, disciplined repair and maintenance procedures, strong service consultation, clear communication, and customer-focused decision-making.

The 2026 Ford Skills Olympics is participated in by the brand’s network of 50 dealers. A total of 452 technicians and 154 service advisors participated in the selection process, with seven representatives from the different dealer groups advancing to compete at the national level. Of note, it featured two categories: the Service Technician Category and Service Advisor Category.
Christian Paul Barroga from Ford Ilocos Norte emerged as the champion in the Service Technician category. Kenneth Dimatulac from Ford Sta. Rosa and Jerick Valencia from Ford Global City finished in second and third place, respectively. Barroga will represent the Philippines at the Ford International Markets Group (IMG) Skills Olympics in Bangkok this November.
For the Service Advisor category, Emilio Hermida from Ford Subic was declared the winner. In second place was Jeffrey Cruz from Ford Manila Bay, and in third place was Sean Kelvin Guangco from Ford Cebu.

“The Ford Skills Olympics is an important Ford program as it helps us benchmark our capabilities, share best practices, identify opportunities for development, and inspire one another to raise the bar. The competition strengthens a culture in which excellence is not occasional—it is practiced every day, in every dealership, for every customer,” shared Ford PH Managing Director Pedro Simoes.
As a review, Ford Motor Company announced last September that Tim Wels will be Ford Philippines’ new Managing Director effective November 1, 2026. Wels will succeed Pedro Simoes, who will be repatriated to the Middle East.
Autocar’s Take
Ford Philippines has showcased the expertise of its dealer service team members yet again through the annual Ford Skills Olympics. More than a competition, the Skills Olympics serves as an ideal event to benchmark the car brand’s expertise and technical knowledge when it comes to aftersales services. Through events such as this, Ford PH can gauge the level of knowledge its dealer group has when it comes to its products and overall customer relations. It’s like a practical test or a recital wherein it will reveal the expertise of Ford PH’s dealer network.
