Ayala’s mobility arm, ACMobility, and Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), have yielded a legacy of successful business ventures. Now, the two companies have entered a new era with their decision to part ways, marking the end of a 35-year collaboration that began with the opening of Honda Cars Makati in 1990.
The partnership between Ayala and Hinda led to the establishment of the Philippines’ largest Honda Cars dealer group, with outlets across Metro Manila and key provincial cities. Over the years, Honda dealerships backed by ACMobility have sold more than 220,000 Honda vehicles as of August 2025.
ACMobility, through its subsidiary company, Iconic Dealership, Inc. (IDI), will turn over nine Honda branches to new dealer principals by the end of 2025. These include Honda Cars Makati, Pasig, Shaw, Bacoor, Cebu, Mandaue, Iloilo, Negros, and Cagayan de Oro. IDI will continue running the dealerships by December 31, 2025. This is to ensure a smooth transition of sales and after-sales services to the dealerships’ new operators starting January 2026. HCPI assured that all ongoing reservations, deliveries, and service appointments will be honored accordingly without disruptions, and that customers can expect uninterrupted access to sales, maintenance, repairs, and warranty support throughout the transition.
“We are grateful, and indeed proud, to have been part of Honda’s journey in the Philippines for the past three and a half decades. This transition reflects our ongoing effort to optimize our portfolio and focus on new growth areas. Among these are our initiatives in advancing sustainable mobility and electrification, where we continue to build solutions that benefit communities, businesses, and the environment,” said Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, Chief Executive Officer of ACMobility.

HCPI President Rie Miyake acknowledged Ayala’s contribution to expanding Honda’s presence in the country, stating that the company remains committed to a smooth transition with the incoming dealer principals. The executive added that HCPI will continue to introduce new products, including electrified vehicles, with the goal of pursuing safer and more carbon-neutral mobility solutions.
