ACMobility, Ayala’s mobility arm, is living up to its promise of further expanding its electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure as it announced its partnership with Robinsons Malls. The company said that its partnership with Robinsons Malls intends to address range anxiety and make EV charging more accessible, particularly in key provincial areas.

“As one of the country’s leading mall operators, Robinsons enables us to further scale our EV network through the deployment of charging infrastructure in highly accessible, high-traffic locations,” ACMobility Mobile Infrastructure Head Carla Buencamino said.

ACMobility added that its partnerships with Robinsons Malls “strengthen connectivity between cities and provinces, and give more Filipinos the confidence to adopt EVs as part of their everyday mobility.”

Under the said partnership, 10 EV charging stations will be launched across different Robinsons Malls, and will all be fully operational by the first quarter of 2026. ACMobility noted that each charging station is equipped with two 22kW charge points (except for Robinsons Butuan, which is equipped with two 7kW charge points).

As of this writing, there are already five operational EV charging stations, located in Robinsons Malls in Ilocos Norte (Luzon); Iloilo, Roxas, and Dumaguete (Visayas); and Pagadian (Mindanao).

Additional EV charging hubs are set to open in Luzon and Visayas at Robinsons Tuguegarao, Santiago, La Union, and in Antique. In Mindanao, soon-to-open EV charging hubs are located in Robinsons Iligan, Butuan, and Valencia.

ACMobility said that all EV charging stations under its network can be located using its partner e-mobility service provider, the Evro app. It features Station Finder, real-time availability tracking, navigation assistance, and in-app payment options.

Buencamino said the new EV charging stations are intended to support the growing number of EV users and encourage more Filipinos, especially those in the provinces, to switch to electric vehicles. She added that this is only the beginning, with more charging infrastructure planned for key cities as demand continues to rise.

Autocar’s Take

ACMobility has once again shown its commitment to expanding its EV charging infrastructure, which is part of the company’s goals this year. Its recent partnership with Robinsons Malls is aligned with its goal of making EV charging more accessible in the Philippines. Putting up EV charging stations in places frequented by people, such as malls, helps increase accessibility in case you need to charge an EV.

As such, ACMobility understands that expanding EV charging infrastructure would eventually lead to more aggressive EV adoption. This is the reason why it continues to install more EV charging stations across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
