FAWCAR has officially introduced Joyee, its mid-to-high-end new energy vehicle brand, in the Philippines, launching three models that cover different needs, from urban electric motoring to long-distance family travel.
The Philippine debut took place at the World Trade Center Metro Manila, where the company unveiled the Joyee S04, S08 and N09. Prices start at P1.188 million for the all-electric S04, P1.628 million for the S08 hybrid SUV and P1.968 million for the N09, which is offered in battery-electric and range-extended electric versions.
According to FAWCAR, all three models have been optimized for Philippine driving conditions, including high temperatures, heavy rainfall and urban traffic congestion. The company said the adjustments reflect its effort to address the everyday mobility needs of Filipino families.
The S04 serves as the brand’s entry point, targeting urban commuters and young families. It has a claimed all-electric driving range of up to 565 kilometers and energy consumption of 11.8 kilowatt-hours per 100 kilometers. Its other features include a 2,750-mm wheelbase, a panoramic sunroof with heat-insulating Low-E glass, and a vehicle-to-load function rated at 3.3 kW for powering compatible external devices.
FAWCAR also cites the S04’s aerodynamic design, with a drag coefficient of 0.248, and a body structure made with 73% high-strength steel among its key features.

For families needing more room and flexibility, the S08 pairs a hybrid powertrain with a larger cabin. Its claimed electric-only range reaches 210 kilometers, while its combined driving range is up to 1,555 kilometers. FAWCAR lists fuel consumption at as low as 3.9 liters per 100 kilometers when the battery is depleted.
The S08 also gets a 590-liter cargo compartment that expands to 1,800 liters with the rear seats folded. Its battery supports 2C fast charging, with the company estimating a 30% to 80% charge in about 20 minutes.
At the top of the launch lineup, the N09 is positioned as a premium sport coupe combining electric performance and in-car technology. Features include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P-based smart cockpit, a 23-speaker Dolby Atmos sound system, frameless doors with power-assisted soft-close functionality and nine airbags.
The N09 uses an 800-volt electrical architecture and supports 6C ultra-fast charging. FAWCAR claims it can add up to 325 kilometers of driving range in 7.5 minutes. The model is available as a battery-electric vehicle or a range-extended electric vehicle.
FAWCAR is a wholly owned subsidiary of China’s FAW Group, which the company says has more than 70 years of automotive manufacturing history and cumulative production and sales exceeding 65 million vehicles.
With all three Joyee models now available in the Philippines, FAWCAR plans to strengthen its local network and customer service as it expands its presence in the market.

Autocar’s Take
Joyee’s Philippine debut puts three different electrified vehicle options on the table at price points that deserve attention. The S04 targets buyers considering their first electric SUV, while the S08 offers a hybrid alternative for families that regularly travel beyond the city. The N09, meanwhile, takes a more premium approach, combining electric propulsion with a technology-focused cabin.
The real test will be how these vehicles perform under local conditions and how well FAWCAR supports owners after the sale. Competitive pricing can attract buyers, but reliable after-sales service, parts availability and long-term ownership confidence will ultimately determine whether Joyee can establish itself in the Philippine market.
