Honda Philippines Inc. (HPI) has reached a significant milestone, producing its 10-millionth motorcycle at its manufacturing facility in Batangas in September 2026.
The milestone is more than a production figure. It represents decades of manufacturing in the Philippines, along with the contribution of Honda’s employees, dealers, suppliers, partners, and, perhaps most importantly, the Filipino riders who have made its motorcycles part of everyday life.
Honda Philippines began motorcycle production in May 1973 at its first factory in Parañaque. Production later moved to a new facility in Batangas in April 2006, where the company continued building motorcycles for both local and export markets.
The production numbers have steadily climbed over the years. HPI reached its first million units in February 2005, followed by two million in 2008 and three million in 2011. The four-million mark arrived in 2014, five million in 2016, and six million in 2019. Production then reached seven million in August 2022, eight million in April 2024, and nine million in August 2025. The 10-millionth motorcycle followed just over a year later in September 2026.
Interestingly, the motorcycle carrying that landmark production number was not an exotic or limited-edition machine. It was a Click125 Smart Edition finished in Pearl Arctic White.
That choice is fitting in its own way. Honda says the Click125 has become a trusted option for Filipino riders making daily commutes and personal trips. Along with Honda’s other motorcycles, the model has contributed to the company’s production for both domestic and export markets.
During the ceremony, Honda Philippines President Takeshi Kobayashi credited customers, dealers, suppliers, partners, and generations of HPI associates for helping the company reach the 10-million-unit mark. He also said the company intends to continue contributing to the Philippines through jobs, people development, and industry growth.
Honda Motor Co. Executive Managing Officer Minoru Kato, meanwhile, pointed to changing customer expectations around safety, convenience, value, and environmental considerations. He described the 10-million-unit milestone as a starting point for Honda Philippines’ next stage of growth.
For HPI, then, 10 million motorcycles is both an achievement and a marker of what comes next. After more than five decades of local motorcycle production, the company is looking to strengthen its manufacturing operations and continue serving Filipino riders while taking on a greater role within Honda’s Asian and Oceania supply network.

Ten million motorcycles is a number that is difficult to overlook, particularly when it represents more than five decades of production in the Philippines. What makes Honda Philippines’ milestone interesting is how closely it mirrors the country’s everyday motorcycle culture. These are machines used for commuting, errands, work, and ordinary trips, rather than simply products sitting in showrooms.
The fact that the 10-millionth unit is a Click125 makes the milestone even more relatable. Honda Philippines now has an opportunity to build on that manufacturing base as Filipino riders increasingly look for greater safety, convenience, efficiency, and value from their motorcycles.
