Dongfeng Motors Philippines launched its PROTECH aftersales program that intends to make the electric vehicle (EV) ownership experience better and more convenient through enhanced warranty coverage and an optimized preventive maintenance program.

Dongfeng Motors PH formally introduced PROTECH to members of the Nammi EV Owners Club Philippines last August 2026. Under PROTECH, Dongfeng said that current Nammi EV and Vigo EV will benefit from the revised Preventive Maintenance Service (PMS) schedule, with servicing now required every 18 months or 15,000 kilometers, whichever comes first.

The Chinese car brand said that by extending the PMS interval from the previous schedule, PROTECH allows current owners to spend less time in the service center while reducing maintenance frequency and ownership costs.

“This change is not something we made lightly. The updated maintenance schedule is based on operational experience, allowing us to extend the service interval while continuing to maintain vehicle reliability, safety, and performance,” said Dongfeng Motors PH Sales Director Rollie Navarro.

Aside from that, Nammi EV and Vigo EV owners will also enjoy the following PROTECH benefits: a 10-Year Unlimited Mileage Battery Warranty and a 5-year Bumper-to-Bumper Vehicle Warranty. To put things in perspective, the Vigo EV was initially offered with an eight-year or 170,000-kilometer battery warranty during its local launch back in May 2026.

“We care about the value proposition we provide with every car you purchase. With PROTECH, we will continue to innovate and work on ways to give our customers greater value and a better ownership experience,” said Dongfeng Motors PH VP for Sales and Operations Giovanni Frias.

Meanwhile, Dongfeng Motors PH added that PROTECH underscores its confidence in its products’ advanced EV technology and engineering. The 10-Year Unlimited Mileage Battery Warranty highlights the brand’s commitment to battery durability and long-term performance, while the 5-Year Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty offers comprehensive protection for new owners

“The future of ownership isn’t just about selling an electric vehicle. It’s about standing behind every kilometer our customers drive,” said Dongfeng Motors PH Deputy CEO Brennan Lim.

Autocar’s Take

Dongfeng Motors PH intends to make EV ownership better, more seamless, and more convenient, as it launched its PROTECH aftersales program. PROTECH offers enhanced warranty coverage and an optimized preventive maintenance program, which is said to be designed to deliver a better EV ownership experience. As such, through PROTECH, Dongfeng Motors PH expects to attract new clients to consider driving home a brand-new Nammi EV or Vigo EV. The 10-year Unlimited Mileage Battery Warranty is something worth considering, as the majority of car brands in the Philippines offer an 8-year warranty.
