VinFast E-Motorcycle, the two-wheeler division of VinFast, claims that its electric motorcycles can withstand flood-prone roads in the Philippines. This is because its e-motorcycle models, such as the Evo, Feliz II, and Viper, feature an IP67-rated powertrain.

The Vietnamese company explains that an IP67-rated powertrain can withstand water submersion for up to 30 minutes, as well as offer protection from dust exposure. The VinFast Evo, Feliz II, and Viper are e-motorcycles that are built with a motor and MCU that come with an IP67 protection rating.

As such, VinFast said that its trio of e-motorcycles is safe from tiny debris and fine particles, giving riders peace of mind when riding through heavy rains, splashes, and spills. That said, VinFast shared that its e-motorcycles can handle sudden downpours with confidence. To add to its claims, VinFast also conducted internal testing, where it found that its product lineup can withstand submersion in 0.5 meters of water for 30 minutes, as well as 30 minutes of driving through water at the same depth.

Despite these claims, riding or driving through flooded roads is not advisable. If possible, it’s better to play the waiting game and only proceed when the flood subsides. Only attempt to cross a flooded road if it’s really necessary. Always remember, your safety should always be your priority.

VinFast e-motorcycles’ batteries are also said to be engineered with impact protection in mind, intentionally designed by the brand to meet European ECE-R136 safety requirements. The company believes that this gives its models a surefooted riding performance should they encounter potholes, uneven surfaces, bumps, and other road impacts

VinFast additionally tested its e-motorcycles against simulated demanding environmental conditions, including a 500-hour salt spray test to assess corrosion resistance in high-humidity and harsh-weather environments. Meanwhile, the e-motorcycle’s batteries feature overvoltage and overtemperature protection and have passed VinFast’s internal durability tests at temperatures of up to 80°C.

To further add to one’s peace of mind, VinFast e-motorcycles come with warranty coverage of up to six years or 72,000 km, while purchased batteries receive the same coverage. For subscribed batteries, coverage continues throughout the subscription period.

At the brand’s grand launch in the Philippines in July 2026, VinFast inaugurated 21 e-motorcycle dealerships in a single day, with plans to expand the network further.

Autocar’s Take

VinFast E-Motorcycle is showcasing that its trio of e-motorcycles can withstand riding through sudden downpours because of their IP67-rated powertrain. It is claimed that its e-motorcycles have the capability to withstand water submersion for up to 30 minutes, as well as offer protection from dust exposure. While this feature is great to have, riding or driving through flooded roads is not advisable, as it poses risks. Waiting for the water to subside is still the better option, as your safety should always be your priority.
