Ford appears to be preparing an even more premium version of its electrified compact SUV for the Philippine market. Case in point: a new variant called the Ford Territory Hybrid Platinum has surfaced in documents published by the Department of Energy (DOE).
The certification lists the vehicle for the 2027 model-year, suggesting that the automaker is expanding its hybrid lineup with a new flagship variant. While Ford Philippines has yet to officially announce the vehicle, a DOE registration is often one of the final steps before a model is introduced locally.
Per the DOE data, the Ford Territory Hybrid Platinum carries the model code CX743 MCA2 (1.5E6-HEV) and is classified as an M1 passenger vehicle powered by a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) system. It is equipped with an automatic transmission and retains the same SUV body style as the current Territory Hybrid sold in the country.

The technical specifications indicate that the upcoming variant shares its core hybrid powertrain with the existing model. The gasoline engine produces a maximum output of 110 kW, while the electric motor is rated at 160 kW. Energy is supplied by a 1.83-kWh battery pack, confirming that the vehicle remains a conventional self-charging hybrid rather than a plug-in hybrid.
The DOE filing also lists overall dimensions of 4,685 mm long, 1,935 mm wide, and 1,706 mm tall, with a gross vehicle weight of 2,140 kg. These figures closely mirror those of the current Territory Hybrid, indicating that the Platinum is likely to be a higher-specification trim rather than an all-new generation or a mechanically updated model.
Since no changes in power output, battery capacity, or vehicle size are reflected in the certification, any differences are expected to focus on equipment and styling. While Ford has not disclosed official details, the Platinum badge traditionally signifies a more premium position within the brand’s lineup, potentially bringing additional comfort, technology, or cosmetic enhancements over the current Territory Hybrid variants.
For now, Ford Philippines has not confirmed launch timing, pricing, or the final equipment list. However, the appearance of the Territory Hybrid Platinum in DOE records strongly conveys that an official introduction could be on the horizon. Until Ford releases complete specifications, the DOE filing offers the clearest indication yet that a new flagship Territory Hybrid is being readied for Filipino buyers looking for a more upscale electrified SUV.
Autocar’s Take
Ford’s decision to potentially introduce a Territory Hybrid Platinum makes sense for today’s market. Hybrid SUVs continue to attract buyers who want better fuel efficiency without changing their driving habits, and adding a more premium trim gives customers another option within the lineup. Based on the DOE filing, performance remains unchanged, suggesting Ford is focusing on refinement rather than outright power. That isn’t necessarily a drawback, especially if the additional features justify the premium. We’ll have to wait for the official reveal, but the Territory Hybrid Platinum already looks poised to become the range-topper for buyers seeking extra comfort and technology.
