GWM Philippines is determined to further expand its presence in the local market, as it appoints Ralph Descallar as its new Dealer Network Development Director. The car brand said that Descallar’s appointment reinforces GWM’s commitment to making its vehicles and services more accessible to local consumers.
Descallar is seen to help GWM strengthen its dealer network footprint and aftersales capabilities, ensuring that more customers nationwide can experience its growing lineup of SUVs and pickup trucks. Speaking of which, GWM PH achieved its best monthly sales performance to date in June 2026, with 112 units sold nationwide.
GWM PH said that the 112 units sold in June translate to a notable 50 percent year-on-year increase and the highest monthly performance in the brand’s history in the local market. The car brand shared that its sales milestone is due to the successful launches of the GWM Haval H9 and the GWM Haval H7, which are two SUVs that are said to have been well received in the local market.

To sustain and carry its sales momentum, GWM PH is looking to expand the dealer network. As such, Descallar will lead GWM’s dealer expansion strategy, working closely with existing and prospective partners to establish a stronger nationwide presence. His leadership will focus on identifying key growth areas and ensuring that every GWM dealership delivers a customer experience that reflects the brand’s global standards.
“At GWM Philippines, growth goes beyond introducing exceptional vehicles, it means bringing the brand closer to more Filipinos. As we continue to gain momentum in the market, expanding our dealer network is a key priority. We are pleased to welcome Ralph to the team, and we are confident that his expertise will help strengthen our partnerships and accelerate our nationwide expansion,” said GWM PH Brand Head Dax Avenido.
Descallar has extensive experience in automotive network development and dealer operations. Before joining GWM, Descallar served as Director for Network Development and After Sales Technical Warranty & Service for Astara Philippines, the company that previously distributed car brands such as GAC, Peugeot, JMC, and JAC Motors.
“I am honored to join GWM Philippines at such an exciting stage of its journey. The brand has demonstrated remarkable momentum, and I look forward to working with our current and future dealer partners as we expand our presence nationwide,” Descallar shared.
