Formula 1 Champion Mika Hakkinen first won his Championship in 1998 behind the wheel of the McLaren MP4/13, an F1 car that dominated the season on a set of Enkei six-dual-spoke F1 specific wheels. This very wheel served as the inspiration for the Enkei RPF1 wheel design, which eventually became one of the most iconic designs produced by the Japanese aftermarket wheel brand, well-loved in the tuning and motorsports scene to this day.
With the regulation changes starting from the 2026 season, Enkei will once again team up with the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team, with the Japanese wheel giant supplying forged magnesium wheels to the defending Formula 1 team champion.
The partnership between Enkei and the McLaren Formula 1 Team dates back to 1995 and continued for 26 years, until 2021, as they competed together at the pinnacle of world motorsports. During this time, Enkei has been involved with 82 podium finishes of the McLaren Formula 1 Team.
Commemorating this special partnership, Enkei is launching a special Enkei RPF1 in celebration of its renewed partnership with McLaren. The limited production run RPF1 special model is available in three specifications and two color options.
The Enkei x McLaren special edition RPF1 is available only in 15-inch, 17-inch, and 18-inch sizes. Both the 17-inch and 18-inch versions are available in RPF1 specs: 17×9 +35 offset, 5×100 PCD, and 18×8.5 +30 offset, 5×114.3 PCD, respectively. Meanwhile, the 15-inch version is available in the RPF1 RS specification, 15×8 offset +28, 4×100 PCD.
Now, what makes these wheels special is the colors that they are offered in. These limited edition wheels commemorating the partnership between Enkei and McLaren are available in colorways representing the official McLaren F1 Team colors of Papaya Yellow with Black Stickers and Gloss Black with Papaya Yellow Stickers.
As per Enkei Japan Co., this special Enkei RPF1 offering will be a made-to-order, limited production run only.
