Giti Tire has been around since 1951, starting out in Singapore and steadily building its presence worldwide. Today, it ranks among the largest tire makers on the planet, with products in over 130 countries and a workforce of more than 28,000. The company runs five manufacturing plants across the US, China, and Indonesia, plus R&D centers in Germany, the US, China, and Indonesia.
In recent years, Giti Tire has strengthened its global standing. It ranks among the top ten most valuable tire brands and has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing names in the industry. The brand also supplies original equipment (OE) tires to over 300 passenger car and 375 truck and bus models worldwide.
Now, Giti Tire is officially reentering the Philippine market through an exclusive partnership with Power Tractire Inc. (PTTI), marking a fresh chapter for the brand locally. The launch event drew more than 50 dealer partners from across the country, with many placing initial orders during the event.

As part of the company’s all-out push, Giti and PTTI have already moved thousands of tires through their nationwide network, so authorized dealers have stock on hand from day one.
PTTI, established in 1996, brings nearly three decades of distribution experience to the table. The company supports more than 300 dealer partners nationwide and operates 30,000 square meters of strategically located warehouse facilities, allowing it to supply both major cities and provincial markets efficiently.
For the Philippine market, Giti Tire is bringing in tires for passenger cars, SUVs, and all-terrain vehicles, with sizes that fit everything from traditional models to the latest EVs. Globally, Giti supplies OE tires to big names like Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Ford, Isuzu, BYD, Geely, GAC, and Changan. Many of these are electric vehicles, which need tires that can handle extra weight and instant torque from their batteries.
Giti is aiming for a sweet spot: global engineering quality at a mid-level price, making its tires accessible and practical for everyday Filipino drivers.

Autocar’s Take
This move lines up with what’s happening in the local market. Chinese automakers like BYD, Geely, and GAC are no longer just fringe players – they’re growing fast and selling in bigger numbers. As one of China’s most trusted OEM tire brands, Giti is in a strong position to grow alongside them.
Giti’s expertise isn’t limited to everyday driving. The brand is active in global motorsports and puts its tires through real-world testing. For credibility, it helps that Giti rubber has been used in high-performance, high-demand situations, including record-setting runs like BYD’s Yangwang U9 program. That says a lot about the strength and confidence built into these tires.
If Giti and PTTI can deliver on what they’ve set out to do, this return could end up being one of the more interesting automotive stories in the Philippines this year.
