Back in October 2025, Ferrari unveiled the technology that’s integrated into its first electric vehicle (EV), an event that was held at the Italian carmaker’s e-building in Maranello. Now, Ferrari has revealed the interior design, as well as the name of its first EV: Luce.
Luce is a fitting name for Ferrari’s first EV, as the said name means light or illumination in Italian. As such, one can argue that the Ferrari Luce will serve as the prancing horse that holds the Luce or the light towards the Italian sports car maker’s venture into electric mobility. Being its first EV, Ferrari wanted to make the Luce’s design special, which is why it has partner LoveForm, a company founded by former Apple executive Sir Jony Ive.
Sir Jony Ive was the former Apple Chief Design Officer, where he led the design development of products such as the iPhone and Mac. He founded LoveForm along with fellow designer Marc Newson, and has been collaborating with Ferrari for five years for the Luce’s design. The Italian automaker teamed up with LoveForm to design the Luce with Ferrari’s legendary heritage while challenging conventions and reimagining every detail.
The result is a modern-looking interior that’s highlighted by a clean, clutter-free dashboard. It also comes with precision-engineered mechanical buttons, dials, toggles, and switches with multifunctional digital displays. Overall, Ferrari shared that it wanted to make the Luce’s interior a showcase of “meticulous craftsmanship, respect for tradition, and thoughtful innovation.”

The materials integrated into the Luce’s interior are deliberately chosen by Ferrari and LoveForm due to the components’ durability and integrity. The designers embraced aluminum for its suitability for precision machining, with engineered components that celebrate the quality and beauty of the material. Ferrari noted that it is 100 percent recycled aluminum alloy meticulously machined from solid billets.
This allows the Luce, according to Ferrari, to have interior components made from aluminum that come with exceptional resistance, hardness, and a refined micro-texture. For the glass materials, Corning Gorilla Glass is used due to its durability and scratch-resistant capability.
Of note, the third and final phase, including the exterior reveal, of the Ferrari Luce launch will be in May 2026. It is during this event that Ferrari plans to hold the grand debut of its first all-electric sports car.

Autocar’s Take
Ferrari’s first EV finally has a name, which is Luce. As mentioned earlier, the name Luce is symbolic as this marks Ferrari’s first all-electric sports car, which also marks the Italian automaker’s venture into electric mobility. By partnering with LoveForm and ex-Apple designer Sir Jony Ive, Ferrari clearly aims to get the design process right for its first EV.
The clean layout, tactile mechanical controls, and high-quality digital displays give the Ferrari Luce a retro-modern design finish. The screen on the dashboard looks like two large iPads, but what stands out is the integration of the mechanical controls as seen on the steering wheel and seamless application to the center control screen.
