Over in its homeland, Korean carmaker Hyundai has introduced the facelifted Staria MPV. Slated for the 2026 model year, the updated Hyundai Staria continues to flaunt its futuristic design and spacious cabin, now with upgrades to technology, comfort, and powertrain options, appealing to families and businesspeople alike. The new model adopts Hyundai’s “Inside-Out” design philosophy, emphasizing both openness and spaciousness inside and out.
Design-wise, the familiar continuous horizontal daytime running light bar continues to define its front-end styling. This time, however, the fascia features a sleeker appearance and subtle refinements, including reshaped LED headlights, a restyled grille, and an updated bumper, to complete the look.
Inside, the cabin has been significantly upgraded. A 12.3-inch central display serves as the infotainment hub, with dual screens available in higher trims. Connectivity options include Hyundai’s latest Digital Key 2 technology and over-the-air software updates, reflecting a focus on convenience and future-ready functionality. The brand also didn’t skimp on practicality as the refreshed model boasts improved storage solutions, revised dashboard layouts, and an emphasis on user-friendly controls.

The new Staria offers a multitude of seating configurations to suit a range of needs. The Tourer passenger variant can seat up to 9 or 11 occupants, while the Premium Lounge trims provide a 7- or 9-seater setup. The good news is that the updated Staria still carries its commercial and cargo lineup, demonstrating Hyundai’s commitment to versatility in both private and business mobility.
Under the hood, Hyundai is broadening the Staria’s powertrain options. This is headlined by a hybrid setup, combining a gasoline-fed 1.6-liter turbo engine with an electric motor for enhanced efficiency and performance. There’s also a 3.5-liter LPG (liquid petroleum gasoline) engine for those seeking smooth and quiet operation. Though its familiar 2.2-liter diesel engine is still present, Hyundai says that South Korea is gradually phasing out diesel-fueled vehicles, which means that there could be no more diesel variants for the Staria’s future iterations.

Beneath its spaceship-like appearance is an improved suspension and sound insulation. The updates help enhance ride comfort, while its suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) maintains its focus on safety.
For the Philippine market, the updated Hyundai Staria could mark a significant step forward in the local MPV segment. Though Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) has yet to make an official statement of its local arrival, the refreshed model’s spacious interior, flexible seating options, and hybrid/LPG choices could definitely cater to both large families and even business operators who need reliable and versatile transport. As urban areas become increasingly congested, hybrid and alternative fuel options may offer efficiency advantages, aligning with local trends toward greener mobility. Moreover, Hyundai’s combination of advanced technology and comfort features could attract premium buyers looking for a stylish and high-tech, yet practical vehicle.
