Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has confirmed that the all-new Isuzu D-Max EV will soon be introduced to the local market, signaling a major milestone for the Japanese brand best known for its diesel-powered models. The announcement follows IPC’s recent trip to Japan where it showcased the electrified pickup at its proving round in Hokkaido.
The exclusive testing event highlighted Isuzu’s commitment to electrification while ensuring that the D-Max EV remains faithful to the brand’s reputation for toughness and dependability. Isuzu said that the D-Max EV produces 174 hp and 325 Nm of torque, thanks to its dual-motor, full-time 4WD system, powered by a 66.9 Kwh battery with an estimated 263 km EV driving range. Isuzu added that charging options include AC charging, which takes about 10 hours to reach 100%, as well as DC fast charging, which can charge from 20% to 80% in under 1 hour.

Despite the electrified powertrain, the Isuzu D-Max EV retains the rugged capabilities expected from an Isuzu pickup truck. As such, it offers a payload capacity of more than 1 ton, a towing capacity of around 3.5 tons, 210 mm ground clearance, and a 600 mm water wading depth. These figures ensure that the electric D-Max can handle both urban duties and off-road challenges, exactly like its much-valued diesel-powered version.
While IPC has confined the Philippine arrival of the D-Max EV, it has yet to make an official statement regarding the launch date and pricing. However, it reassured that an announcement will be made once it finalizes its rollout plan and support infrastructure for EV customers.
The confirmation of the D-Max EV is a significant step for IPC and for the country’s growing electric vehicle segment. For pickup users seeking the utility and durability of a traditional workhorse with zero-emmission performance, the eventual arrival of the Isuzu D-Max EV could mark the beginning of a new era for the local pickup truck segment.

“The D-MAX EV represents Isuzu’s commitment to delivering vehicles that are not only powerful and durable, but also environmentally responsible. As we continue to move toward carbon neutrality, we are exploring how this model can fit the needs of our Philippine customers – balancing performance, sustainability, and the dependability that Isuzu is known for,” shared IPC President Mikio Tsukui.
