Jaecoo Philippines has finally launched the J7 SHS, its contender in the rapidly growing local hybrid segment. Offered in two variants – Comfort and Premium, this fresh addition to the Chinese carmaker is originally priced at P1,449,000 and P1,549,000, respectively.
The J7 SHS moves with the company’s SHS system or Super Hybrid System technology. This comprises a 1.5 engine, an electric motor, and a battery pack that enables the SUV to achieve a fuel economy of 24.4 km/L and an electric driving range of 90 km. It also has a hybrid transmission that can adjust power delivery depending on the speed, aiming to boost performance and efficiency.
One special thing about the battery pack is that Jaecoo has fitted it with a thermal protection system that deflects excessive heat. The system also protects the battery against water intrusion, and it also quickly cuts the power supply off within two milliseconds upon detecting a collision. The best part about this is that the battery is capable of V2L or vehicle-to-load, a feature that essentially turns the J7 SHS into a 3.3 Kw power supply to run appliances during outdoor activities.
Style-wise, the Jaecoo J7 SHS exudes elegance while maintaining a subsided presence. Prominently placed up front is a sizable grille, flanked by slim LED headlights. In profile, its sleek design is highlighted by hidden door handles that give it a clean, minimalist look. The rear end, meanwhile, shows off the same minimalist treatment and is headlined by an intricately designed tail light assembly.
Jaecoo says that the J7 SHS has already amassed a strong sales performance globally. The brand claims that the hybrid SUV has sold over 10,000 units in such areas as Israel, Poland, the UK, Spain, Italy, and Malaysia.
One important highlight of the Jaecoo J7 SHS is its recent achievement from the Euro NCAP, an organization that assesses vehicle safety. It was given the 5-Star Euron NCAP rating for its excellent showing in terms of protecting occupants and pedestrians. Its safety features include driver monitoring system, 360-degree camera with under chassis view, and a Bosch intelligent braking system that activates within 0.1 seconds upon detecting a potential impact. These are complemented by 6 airbags for better occupant protection.
Jaecoo Philippines says as part of its celebration of the J7 SHS’s arrival, it’s launching an introductory price offer. This means the Jaecoo J7 SHS Comfort and Premium variants can be had for just P1,399,000 and P1,499,000, respectively. This offer will run until September 15, 2025.
