Chevron, AmCham celebrate Batch 1 of Automotive Scholars

Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), marketer of Caltex fuels and lubricants, in collaboration with the AmCham Foundation Philippines (ACFPI), proudly recognized 28 scholars who successfully completed a 15-month Automobile Mechanics training program at Don Bosco Technical Institute Makati. Graduating with TESDA certification, these scholars are now equipped to enter the automotive industry with confidence.

Handpicked by AmCham Foundation representatives, the scholars underwent rigorous training, including a four-month hands-on internship at Caltex-branded workshops under the Caltex Mechanics Pool initiative.

“We are deeply grateful to Chevron for their unwavering support in fostering sustainable initiatives that transform lives,” said Daisy Palor, Project Manager at AmCham Foundation Philippines. “For our scholars, this graduation is just the beginning. We will continue to support them as they embark on their careers, aiming to uplift their families and communities. This first batch of graduates makes us incredibly proud.”

Karlito Luis Manuel, the batch’s Gold and Exemplary Conduct Awardee, expressed his gratitude, saying, “This program has been a life-changing opportunity. I am beyond thankful to Chevron and hope to one day pay it forward by helping others achieve their dreams, just as I have been given this chance.”

Fellow scholar Jhon Keven Eugenio, recipient of multiple awards, including Perfect Attendance and Volunteerism, echoed this sentiment. “This scholarship was more than just financial assistance—it was a beacon of hope that reminded me of my potential. Because of Chevron, I was able to complete my training at Don Bosco, and for that, I am forever grateful.”

Chevron remains committed to uplifting Filipino communities through education and skills development. “This partnership with AmCham Foundation Philippines has been truly meaningful,” said Raissa Bautista, Senior Corporate Affairs Manager at Chevron Philippines Inc. “We hope our scholars will one day give back, inspiring the next generation to pursue their dreams and contribute to the industry and society.”
