Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South) took part in an inspiring reforestation activity on September 27, 2024, as it joined hands with Maynilad Water Services Inc. and Bantay Gubat of Ipo Watershed for the “Plant for Life” tree planting event. This effort aimed to help rejuvenate the Ipo Watershed in Bulacan, a vital water source for millions in Metro Manila and Cavite.
Alongside employees and volunteers from Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), MPT South contributed to planting 800 native tree seedlings in the area. This activity is part of Maynilad’s ambitious 2024 goal to plant 220,000 trees across 660 hectares of forested land, all in the name of environmental conservation.
“It’s a privilege to work hand-in-hand with our colleagues at LRMC to protect nature,” said Arlette V. Capistrano, Vice President for Communication and Stakeholder Management of MPT South. “Our efforts today will help secure a better environment for future generations.”
MPT South’s involvement in Plant for Life aligns with the company’s larger sustainability mission, which encourages individuals and communities alike to participate in protecting our planet’s resources.
As a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC), MPT South manages major toll roads like CALAX and CAVITEX and is part of a vast network including NLEX, SCTEX, and CCLEX, making sustainability a core priority across its operations.
